The servers are:
Lost City - This is a West Coast PvP server.
Heaven's Tear - This is a West Coast PvE server.
Sanctuary - This is a West Coast PvE server.
Archosaur - This is a West Coast PvE server.
Harshlands - This is an East Coast PvP server.
Dreamweaver - This is an East Coast PvE server.
Raging Tide - This is an East Coast PvE server.
On PvP servers, once you reach level 30 then anyone can attack your character and you can attack anyone else. On PvE servers, players normally can only attack each other if they go into PK (Player Killing) mode, which lasts for 10 hours minimum. (There are still a few areas, such as some rooms in the Cube of Fate, in which PK is always enabled.)
The East Coast servers are on Eastern time (EST or EDT, UTC -5 or -4, respectively) and the West Coast servers are on Pacific time (PST or PDT, UTC -8 or -7). A lot of events on PWI happen in the evening (8:50 PM - midnight), server time, so if the ping times are about the same you might want to choose based on which coast's time zone works better for you.
For more information on the servers, see the Servers entry in the PWI wiki.zamirigneel wrote: »have 0 knowledge bout this game though...hope u guys can help me:

If you like the pets, then I recommend the venomancer class, though I should note that venomancers can only be female. Next month is the Genesis expansion release, which will add the seeker and mystic classes, and mystics will be able to summon pets as well.
The best build will depend on the class and your preferences as well, as most classes have a few build variations. Check out the wiki and the relevant class forums here once you've picked your class(es) for build guides.

This game is fun. I like it. There's a lot I haven't explored yet since I'm new-ish as well, but after playing it for months, I noticed that this game is designed more as "free to play, pay to win". That quote meaning if you play for free, you'd have to work a lot harder and longer than ones who pay real money.
I'm not sure about which server you should go with, but I do know that Raging Tides is full of trolls, and the like. I'm not complaining though!
As for class, choose one that you would like to know more about.
Wizards are good damage dealers. They have all of the elements at their hands (metal (lightning), earth, wood, fire, and water (correct me if I'm wrong ^^;)), along with buffs and the such to help them and squad members.
Venomancers are pet-based and are more of a "solo" class. They have a split path between how you can play. Arcane venomaners are mage-based, meaning they rely on a pet to tank damage while she attacks from afar. The other build/path is fox-form based venomancers. It's not recommended to be one at the start, but in the end this class is fun to experiment with. But choosing one path doesn't restrict you to just that path. I'm an Arcane venomancer, and I use Fox-Form frequently to debuff bosses for my squad, and myriad. And for Fox-Form, a venomancer needs to be wielding a magic weapon, or no weapon at all in order to transform. Knowing that, even if you're a light armor/heavy armor venomancer, you'd still need a high magic bonus to wear better weapons. I'm sure you'll read more if you choose to play a veno ^^. I did!
Barbarians are the "tank" class, where in squads they take all the damage from a boss. They can transform into a white tiger.
Assassins are more or less ninjas; they have the ability to stealth away from mobs, teleport next to a mob, and all the bits and pieces of what an assassin stereotypically does.
Psychics are powerful damage dealers, doing only earth and water element damage. They also have a nice variety of buffs and versatility to them that you can experiment with.
Archers are strong physical and elemental (metal) damage dealers. They have insane range on their bows and skills, and can fly from the start.
Cleric is the healing class. Being one, you can typically solo many things other classes can't, because of the healing skills one has. This is one of the most important classes out there to have in a squad. Without one, a squad can't really go that far without wasting a lot of money on potions, charms, and the such.
Blademasters are exactly what they are. They can equip many weapons, and have skills for each type. They use axes, polearms, fists, and claws. These are great damage dealers, and have great support skills, such as Heaven's Flame and area of effect stuns. Heaven's Flame increases damage the mob takes for a short period of time.
Those are just my 2 cents on whether you want to play this game or not. A lot of people will complain that it's "broken" because of numerous reasons that I will not go into.
Another thing that has become popular is 5aps. You'll hear it a lot if you play. 5aps is 5 attacks per second. That's an insane amount of attacks per second. Every class can get this, but it's insanely expensive. The typical classes that should get it is BMs and Assassins. But you'll learn more about it the more you play.
P.S. I've only played the venomancer and assassin. The rest of the descriptions of the other classes are based solely on what I've learned by reading, asking, and ingame experience with them.
Hope this helps!0 -
Whether it's good or not is a matter of opinion, so try it out and decide for yourself. It's free, so it won't hurt to try it.
You should base your choice of server on whichever ones have the lowest ping time (the smallest MS you see listed when you select the server when logging in) and whether it is PvE (Player versus Environment) or PvP (Player versus Player). If the ping times are fairly similar for you, then the time zone the servers are in may be a factor as well.
(There are still a few areas, such as some rooms in the Cube of Fate, in which PK is always enabled.)

As far as what class you should be, well... that depends on your personality. You can go to the wiki to find out a bit about all of the classes, and decide which class(es) suit you best. You could also just make multiple characters (you have have up to eight characters on one account) and try them all out for yourself. I play three different classes, myself.
If you like the pets, then I recommend the venomancer class, though I should note that venomancers can only be female. Next month is the Genesis expansion release, which will add the seeker and mystic classes, and mystics will be able to summon pets as well.

This game is awesome, have been playing it a little over 4.5 years now, prolly more, kinda lost track, but still playing it.
This is one of the best F2P MMO's out there. the GAME is awesome. The company behind it, has lately been shifting its priorities a little, which does not really jive with the community.
If you are ok with spending a little cash on this game, or are very efficient at merchanting, then this game will prolly be one of the best MMO's you have ever played.
The game's mechanics are easy 2 understand, graphics are...above average, smooth gameplay and a solid user interface.
Without the guide you can figure this game out fairly fast, but ask players on how things work and what they work for, and then just fiddle around with it, it will come to you fast enough.
But regardless the game remains very enjoyable 2 play, and most of the players within it are fun to play with.
Alot of single player style options as well as high amount of team orientated objectives and possebilities.
Server wise i suggest you start with a populated PvE server, to learn the game mechanics first, before throwing yourself at the PvP aspects of the game. This will ensure you don;t get yourself worked up over getting killed by players. and possible gear loss when getting killed. its the safe option.
So do some research, pick a server, make a char, pick a class, and just go play you will know fast enough if this game is good for you.
Hope this helps. GL and most importantly, HAVE FUN!!b:victory Once you discover life is meaningless, you will see my point of view!! b:victory

1. I have played virtually every MMORPG - free-2-play & pay-2-play
2. For Perfect World - I have been playing since Jan 2008
3. For all others - I averaged maybe - 2-3 months.
4. In PW you can fly (VERY high), swim (not drown) and of course land travel.
5. The game has many layers - with new maps opening as you get higher.
You can survive w/o cash shopping, since the drops are fairly decent, and people do resell items they purchase from Cash Shop.
The game has alot of depth, so be warned. Just join a Legion, take it slow, use your Friends List (and be sure to sort them by class).
Have fun ~ and I would suggest a PVE Server to try it out.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
Thnx guys ^^ i appreciate it b:laughb:victory0
