sage or demon

I might be in the wrong section who knows... BUT

My cleric is getting closer and closer to her 80's and im starting to seriously think about the whole sage vs. demon thing.

What i want to know is pro's and cons

Basic's to sage and demon
for instance i saw on a forum someone say that sage = free mp
and that as sage you have unlimited mp..... this seems outrageous (but brilliant!!)

could someone pls clear it up for me..

    im going to be honest..to me cleric is 1 of those classes where sage/demon is actually balanced...

    I'd suggest go looking at the skill books listing and seeing what they offer that appeals to you.

    I always thought Clerics looked amazing with the Sage fairy, especially when it is evolved to stage 3.

    And btw - kudos to you when you do get your fairy :)

    I'd suggest looking at the cleric skill books http://www.ecatomb.net/pwi/skillep.php and deciding.
    I personally chose demon for the channeling from demon spark. >.>

    what fairy??????????? you get a fairy with sage??

    i have been looking at the books and sage really apeals to me. But asisdes from the skills is there any other advantages to sage or demon?

    Sage and demon are balanced for cleric. Here are a couple of examples.

    Increased channeling & magic attack
    -sage gets channeling from a buff (magic shell) and increased magic attack from sage spark
    -demon gets increased channeling from spark, and can get increased magic attack via spark or 'spirits gift' buff

    Free mana:
    -sage gets from buff 'spirits gift'
    -demon gets from buff 'celestial guardians seal' or ironheart heal

    Increased physical defense:
    -sage gets from 'vanguard spirit' buff
    -demon gets from stream of rejuvenation

    Acquiring chi:
    -sage has the 50 chi every minute thing, plus skill 'wield thunder' has 50% chance to get 30 chi every time you use, and stream of rejuv gives extra chi
    -demon buffs 'vanguard spirit' and 'magic shell' have chance to get chi to target (yourself if you are target) so macroing these two skills can fill up chi bar, and wellspring surge gives extra chi

    Revive:
    -sage has 0% xp loss, 40meter range (up from 28)
    -demon has 0% xp loss, channeling is halved (10s to 5s)

    Other random considerations:
    Silent seal: sage lasts longer, demon doesn't reduce magic attack
    Chromatic seal: sage lasts longer, demon doesn't slow you down
    Debuffs: sage last longer (25s up from 20s), demon the debuff on yourself is only 15s (down from 20s)
    Tempest: sage has 50% chance to use only 1 spark, demon has 25% chance to aoe-freeze for 8s

    The one skill that is definitely in favor of demon is wield thunder:
    -sage 50% chance to get 30 chi upon hit
    -demon reduces metal def of target 30%

    As you can see, they are pretty balanced. I chose demon on my cleric most because of demon ironheart and stream of rejuvenation, since I use those skills a lot, and I like their effects over the sage versions.

    My cleric has been both demon and sage, and the reason I was both of those:

    Sage: Magic Shell, Ironheart, Vanguard, Spirit's Gift, Plume Shot

    Demon: Spark, Magic Shell/Vanguard, Revive, Stream, Wield Thunder

    There's plenty of advantages on each of those. It's just picking which bonus you prefer more.
