ok i have just constructed my new gaming computer (self designed) and i am having a bit of difficulty. here are my system specs:
Case: Antec 1200
Mobo: ASUS Crosshair 4 formula
Processor: AMD 1090T 6 core processor (all six cores are unlocked and active) @ 3.2 Ghz
RAM: Gskill Ripjaws DDR3 1333
Storage: 2 mushkin SSD's, not in RAID, however are still wicked fast.
Sound: HTO striker 7.1 surround sound card
Graphics card: EVGA GTX580 Superclocked edition
Power supply: COrsair 850 watt PSU.
Monitor: ASUS VK28 27 inch monitor 2ms response time and 10000000:1 contrast ratio.
Mouse: Razer death adder
Keyboard: Saitek eclipse (red backlighting)
Networking: Rosewill 5dbi antenna USB connection (up to 300 Mbps)
OS: Windows 7 home edition 64 bit

im pretty sure i covered everything in there, but correct me if im wrong.

So here's the mystery: this card eats every game i have (SC2, oblivion, etc..) without breaking a sweat. However i still get 20-30 fps in PWI (i was expecting 60+) is this too high of expectations? if you have 60 fps+ please post your system specs becuase i am truly baffled by this. my top two suspicions are:
1.) power issue (600w graphics card + 125W processor + mobo etc..)
2.) RAM issue (i tried overclocking it, and the computer did not recognize USB prots upon startup O.o)

Am i setting my expectations way too high or is there a hardware issue please tell me your opinions thoughts etc.

BTW all drivers are up to date, however i have not updated windows. i will do that but still please post your comments or thoughts. and if you do get 60 FPS+ please post your system specs.

Try changing the terrain setting to be off and see if that helps.

Try experimenting with the in-game graphic settings until you get a better frame rate. Use FRAPs to see how much things get improved.

If you are using the control panel features for your video chipset, try disabling any of those settings.

Try running in windowed mode, and in a smaller resolution.

Oh, and I had to take a moment to reflect over your system specs. I may have gotten some tears or drool on my keyboard. b:chuckle b:surrender
Do you need help learning about patching the game, installing it, changing antivirus/firewall settings, changing network settings, learn how to use a computer, keeping your PC maintained and more?

if i set the graphics quality to minimum i get 60 fps, however i dislike the minimum graphics settings. so even in windowed i still get 20-30 fps, and the terrain feature didn't fix anything. In fact, when i reset the graphics settings to max, the fps went down to 19!!!!! b:shockedb:cry idk what is happening! any other ideas? im a real good IT tech, but im stumped on this one XD
