Mysterious button...

I've tried using the search function and can't find an answer. Help me, PWIF. You're my only hope.

This may or may not be common knowledge, but you can move the mini map around on the game interface. I've known about this for awhile, but I've never really bothered with it since I like the map where it is. What I didn't know was that if you pull the map out far enough it reveals a mysterious button.

Unlike the other buttons on the interface, this one doesn't have a tool tip. While separated by significant space from the rest of the map pane it's position remains consistent in relation to the map pane when the map is moved. In short, it's part of the map. When pressed, the button causes your character to move eastward toward a point in the endless sea. Given it's placement, I'm not certain that we're meant to know about it. Regardless, I'm rather curious about the button and it's purpose.

I've used that before but i can't remember for what, and I think, unless you tried it on more than one occasion, that you're not pressing the button and what you're actually doing is pressing through the button and it's just making you fly in that direction.

Try pressing it looking a different way and see if you still fly to the endless sea. I say this because, it doesn't have an "auto-path" trail on it....hope it helps? :/

You're right. I did a couple tests on the ground, and I can see the icon for the ground click. b:chuckle
It looks like this isn't something that can be interacted with.

I just noticed that button :o Though for now it seems it does nothing, it's just the image of a button with no function. When you click on it it counts as if you were clicking into the distance, and by default making your character walk/run/fly/swim towards that direction, also not showing Autopathing tracks. In my opinion it might be what was left of one of the modifications of the interface.

Never noticed it before, but it looks like one of the markers used as fiducials on a PCB layout. I'm gonna guess it's a leftover from whatever graphics program was used to create that image for the game.
