lol it was super hard way back, I only know a handful of ppl that made it to the fourth boss let alone finished it back then, though i farmed the solo mode for exp and pots on my veno.. back then it was good coins. it woudl be neat to have it again just to see with all the new gear we have now compared to then, im sure we could wipe right through it, but no i dont think it will ever happen either, really no pnt with gear in packs what would be the point, anyone who wants to farm the weapon can jsut farm the past of frostcovered lands while they level a biljillian times.

yet YOU and all you other CN lovers are PLAYING THIS version...

cn lover? I'm simply comparing. these cash shoppers in pwi spend more than those in cn, often play longer than their members who get paid to play, but level slower with worse gear.

    3. There would be no point of hyper stones then since AoE grinding outside of OVS sucks.
Someone asked this elsewhere, now I'm wondering too. What does "OVS" stand for? I can only think of one thing it might be, but it doesn't quite fit.

OVS = Old Valley of the Scarred
VoS = Old Valley of the Scarred
    AKA = 3rd OHT map.

frost nerf? I assume nobody in pwi has done the original frost. the previous version would likely be far too difficult, as pwi players are pampered beyond belief.

pw-cn's cap is 120, why so slow pwi?

Some of us do come from versions much older than PWI.

We have done the original solo mode Frost, with the full Frost (5-6 hours isn't it)? And we have done the quests to get into Lunar (solo) which was not very pleasant... and we remember the bridge that was in TT 2 that you had to cross, but now they have this nifty NPC there to tele you over to Elf.

honestly, you sound like an old grandfather that talks abour war times that they had to suffer, walk a thousand miles to go to school etc and nowdays kids have it too easy...

hey, reality check, it's a game, not a job, things are supposed to be fun.

however I agree that more challenging stuff are interesting, what was that bridge?
personally I would like to see bosses that take tons of cooperation and skill to kill (and u need to kill it 1-2 times for the drop) instead of midlessly killing it a thousand times to get a drop

-that- bridge got removed cuz ppl would just lure it on it so they didnt aggro the mobs spawning on his area

doesnt make too much difference, ppl just simply run up the chain now..

It was the most epic thing evar in the history of PWI. You know, like how there was no BH or new hyper or new FF or genies or autopathing. Old school was so cool. Doesn't anyone else remember how cool it was? b:laugh

So this was that bad about it? Oh, my, we're so sorry that we thought and used the terrain/enviroment to our advantage. *rolls her eyes*

What would they think of next? Making that huge armor guy if TT1 unmoveable from his platform so you won't be able to avoid it's mobs? Make snake's traps explode anyway even if you don't move?

...maybe I shouldn't give them ideas...? *hides*

tbh it would be more interesting if the actual "tricks" of the boss couldnt be avoided and the boss isnt just a ton of hp.

Old Frost...*shudders* But seriously, it was much more entertaining then than it is now. I'd love the option of being able to choose between "experience pit" and "see how far you get before you give up and die." Hell, any kind of challenge would be welcomed

Be happy the bridge was removed in PWI, it has always been there in PW MS and it usually took about 10 minutes or so to cross it for me because of rubber banding. Nasty thing it was. Besides, the mobs are easy enough to just kill, why bother with luring or chains b:chuckle

I don't care if they get rid of the current version, but I want access to the old version, it was fun. And yes, there were those of us who did do it (completed 4 times) but it was so tedious in those days do to lower average gear, pre-anni pack gear, few TT99, nobody with lunar, few higher than +5-7, nobody with r8, etc that it was a 12-18 hour run to complete, but a total blast to have the challenge.

Most likely if a version of it is coming in it would be Trophy mode FF, so people can finish the max trophy cape (all other trophy modes are available)

Because the venos trying to solo would QQ about it when they wouldnt have enough DD is my bet.

Id honestly like a revamp to Frost. I wasnt around when the "old" lunar and frost was around, and id like a challenge. I honestly havent been in lunar squad mode since i was about 93. But taking 45 mins tops for me to solo Frost is getting a bit old? Like a bit more of a challenge. =D

Oi. Go try and solo Lunar team mode then. If you're successful, you get your money back. If you're not, then you likely just wasted 3mil. Remember to bring a bow too. You'll need it.

Alternatively, find a squad to do trophy mode with. Hint: APS is not a requirement. AOE is.

Arch try setting the boots sequance to boot from the CD-ROM 1st then HD-0 and do a low lvl format on the drive you might want to run a fitness test on the drive as well to make sure it's not a defective drive. Secondly try cleaning the optics on your cd-rom and a different install disc, also try a different rom drive if possible. You can even try changing the IDE cable. Also while in the BIOS set the HD and CD to auto n let it set itself this should help. If none of that works will suggest something else you can pm me in game if have any ?'s

^ This seems to pretty much sum it up. At first, I was worried there would be a riot. Now, I'm actually excited to try out the "old" Frost. I created my first PWI character about a week before the Raging Tides expansion came out, so compared to some of you I am a total nab. b:chuckle

Thank you for the intelligent responses, I'm looking forward to Genesis even more now!

Er wait whut? I thought they snuck out Lunar trophy mode and disabled it because "no one was doing it?" >< Well I was one of the first ppl to throw out there the prediction that not only they would revert FC but making a Nirvana version for all the ppl who were -channing addicts, but ppl laughed at it. If it comes true I will **** myself.

    Lunar trophy mode

Lunar tm is still in-game as far as I know.

tm99 was removed from CN though because people were duping rank 9 gear in there or so I heard.

    A) It turns out that I did know what it was, but the abbreviation is wrong. According to Traz, "OVS = Old Valley of the Scarred", however the name of the place is just "Valley of the Scarred", which would be "VotS", there shouldn't be an "O" because there's no "Old" in the name, which was the part that "didn't quite fit". There's an "Old Heaven's Tear", but that's only because there is a "current" Heaven's Tear. There is no such doubling of the Valley of the Scarred, thus no need to call it "Old" (even though it is in ChronoWorld.)

    B) Even if I hadn't been right about that, you don't have to know everything about PWI in order to make sure that the wiki isn't defaced, spammed, poorly formatted, filled with grammar/spelling/punctuation/capitalization errors, etc., etc., etc...

    C) I've been working on the wiki far more than anyone else and I know it better than anyone else. Can you name someone more qualified to moderate it?

If you think not knowing one abbreviation (an incorrect one, I might add) should disqualify someone from being the wiki moderator, then you have some absurdly strict standards. :-P (Heck! I wrote about half of the Abbreviations and Terms section of the wiki. I wouldn't be surprised if I knew more abbreviations that you do!)

Add onto that, prof, directly north/northwest of Tradewind, literally right outside, and you have Unicorn Forest.

I was about to assail the person that said he shouldn't be qualified by not knowing every single thing, but after not only getting two things very wrong and being argumentative on top of it, well...

Yup, you're correct there. My mistake.

I didn't see it listed on the main map and didn't remember it from the game, so I got that one wrong.

Still, all of the game references I can find to the ChronoWorld version of Valley of the Scarred do not have "Old" in front of them. If you have a correction for me on that, please let me know.

There's always server terminology vs what it's actually called. Doesn't matter what you call it... it has the same implied meaning.

On Sanc server everyone calls Twilight Temple TT, whereas people on Lost City refer to it as HH. Same instance.

People on our server also call 3rd map OVS, even though the map is called "Valley of the Scarred." Same implied meaning, just what people are used to I suppose. Old habits die hard. b:surrender

    who calls hell Momaganon?
    who calls heaven Lothranis?
your point +1, at least on HT 99% of people have no idea what Momaganon/Lothranis are
