ok guys heres my dilema, i have a lvl 87 psy that im gonna get to r8 lvl and 100 gold on the way. I am going to use about 70 gold to r8 the psy then the other 30 i wud like to know what to do with, now with my bm i am spamming nirvana to fund it but i want to know if having the r8 gear will make me very squishy seeing as i cant add jades of steady def to it
, this psy is mainly for pk and my main concerns are sins, with the r8 ill have good attack which is why im seeking advice for defence with the r9 set. Origianlly urDian gave me advice on the nirvana 2nd tier and the jades but i have come to the realization that i wont be able to afford that in a hurry cause i been spamming nirvana and i only aquired 40 uncannies. so im willing to work with the r8.

Do you have a 3.2 / 3.3 mps flying mount? The faster the better as far as PvP is concerned.

    r8 armor is crappy defense-wise.
i dont really like jades since they are useless in white voodoo.

R8 psy wep is amazing, however the armour is nt too good, i think the nirvana armour isbetter than r8 armour. better stats on it, better defence, (higher lvl) I have same prob as you, im too poor for nirvana for the forseeable futureb:sad
If ur sticking with the r8 armour, and concnerend about sins, maybe pdef shards would work? and + it for hp. however sins are always gonna be tricky for mages. whitevoodoo and psy will with soulburn will buy u some time.

Did you notice that UrDian himself didn't stay in R8 for long? Wanna know why?

....because it sucks compared to a proper Nirvana set.

So pay more money. Get Rank 9. And whatever you do.... >.> Don't kill me while I'm grinding.

Exactly my poiny and rank 9 is nice but way to expensive for me, even in r8 urDian was a force to be reconed with but that's with his nirvana set
I don't ming being at that lvl I'm up to 70 cannies now, wat he told me to do was take it step by step. He said get r8 and get 500 cannies to nirvana
2nd tier the wrist and boots untill I can nirvana the rest, I can't cs that much but its still doable, I think Ssacramento did it so I can as well
He also beyond 4.5k to 5k pdef was a waste and that the jades were better

R8 armor doesnt have a lot of Pdef bonuses. It dropped my Pdef by 300-800. Which I noticed ;) The magic def is nice,The damage burst is nice,Just the damn Pdef... My magic attack with the R8 set on is 14-18k . But like everyones been saying,The Pdef from R8 set is lame indeed. Id reccomend one of 2 things. Refine ur gear very high to give u added Pdef(Get a phys def belt,Phys def neck and refine it with however much cash ya got). or u can shard ur gear with Jade of def,but if ur not a hybrid(Vit/Mag build) Then this could leave u with some low Hp. unless ofc u have some decent refines and decent gear ;) . Personally im going with the first one,Buying 1* D.Orbs. combining to get 4-12* D.Orbs. and going from there. Hopefully one of those 2 tips helped.

u mean refine the belt right and phy belt and neck right but how much pdef is good for a psy, i heard 5k is enough because of white vodoo and if your pdef shud be capped at 5k wats other thing to shard

Yes. Mainly refine ur phys neck and phys belt. But also refine ur chest, leggings, boots. Because refining those also adds Pdef+Hp. But if u dont have enough money to refine everything just stick to the neck and belt for the most Pdef. As 2 how much Pdef is enough for a psy im not sure,I've ran into psys with 800Pdef. some with 3k Pdef. So im not totally sure on that

Don't quote me on this, but I believe a specific hardcore R9 Psychic on Harshlands said that at around 4-5k P.Def you start to get dimishing returns. Ijs.

In my opinion, we have two skills that really help with the sin problem:

    Soul of Stunning

    Psychic Will

The first is good to defend against surprise sin attacks. It gives you just enough time to cast Psychic Will. Sage Psychic Will gives you a full 8 seconds of physical damage immunity while still being able to move / attack. Further, it removes any negative status affects.

There is nothing in the world funnier than watching a 5aps sin try to PK me when I have Psychic Will and Soul of Vengeance on. Once they realize what's happening, they're already down quite a bit in HP. Of course, a skilled sin would never attack in those conditions. Soul of Stunning is our best defense since many sins won't even try to attack you when they see all that purple lightning.

With that said, if Psychic Will is on cooldown, if Soul of Stunning has already been triggered and is on cooldown, or if the sin has anti-stun turned on, pretty much all you can do is wait to click on Release Corpse. b:surrender Sins are incredibly OP for PK; I think Psychics are about the only class that has some sort of built-in defense against them (the two spells above).

I don't recommend soul of stunning for sins. Any sin with a brain sees the lightning aura and uses maze steps and then stun you. Use retaliation and keep moving to give you time to use will instead if you know a sin is coming.
