So.. I would really like to start doing FCC, but I can't seem to find a squad.. b:surrender I guess it's because I'm lower-level.. I've only found one squad, but I was just rushed through it and didn't learn a thing. So I was wondering if anyone from Sanctuary would like to take me through FCC and show me how it works, so I'll know what I'm doing for future squads and can play my part in the squad. Nobody wants to teach it. Thanks!

I'm not in Sanct, but it's not hard to pick up. I'll give a little explanation - these are pretty much the basics of what you need to do well in a FF.

-Follow the barb at all costs. Stay behind him but don't ever fall behind.

-Follow his lead when he pulls. Give him time to get aggro before you bring out the guns.

-In some hallways there will be a flying mob with ~100k health. It's the duty of the ranged classes to kill it or the squishies get dropped.

-First boss. All it does is spawn glowy orange circles on the floor - like the hands in TT. Just get out of them or you go kaboom. It's not hard.

-Second boss. 85+ talk to the NPC to get the quest. 5 colored auras will appear around a boss on a pedestal. For now, the boss is frozen - you can't hurt it and it can't hurt you. Run to the blue aura on the right side of the boss, Glacix Elementos will spawn and try to break the boss out of its ice prison. The more you kill, the weaker the boss will be when it comes out. Glacix Elementos appear every 30 seconds, you won't get credit if you don't kill them within that time.

Soon, the second boss will come out. He's nothing special. Kill him as usual. Sometimes he puts a bubble around you that does pretty hefty (2k+ on me, but I'm light armor so everything hits me hard) damage. Clerics can and will purify it.

-Third boss. This guy, Cyclota Styren, is nothing special. He summons a Dragoon with 200k HP twice during the fight, once at the start and once before death. Always focus on the Dragoon before Styren. It also gives good exp.

-Fourth boss. Dreadindra, or the Bishop Boss. Always stand right up next to it, because it spawns mobs called Frost Bishops that do AoE lightning damage. The key is that they always spawn next to a player, so if everyone stands close together then it's easy to get to any spawning Bishops. Always prioritize their death over Dread's death.

-Fifth boss. Asoteric Runewolf. It will periodically say SUPER...POWERFUL...MIGHTY...WHIRLING...SLASH (or something to that effect) and on SLASH, it will release an AoE attack that will kill you unless you run.

So when you see SUPER..., start running away. Archers at max range are safe from it, so try running to your archer(s). He also does a periodical AoE that kind of hurts, but Chromatic Healing Beam should take care of it.

Sixth boss. All he does is put you to sleep. Pushover. Deal with accordingly.

    -EXP ROOM-

In this room, the Big Room/Exp Room, there are 3 targets:

    -Harpies
    -7th Boss
    -THEN mobs and heads.

So your ranged classes will go around killing harpies, this isn't hard. Next, move up to the boss. This guy is really tricky. Probably the worst boss if you're in a fail squad. He does two things: Spawns a clone of himself, and makes hands.

Hands you say? Yes. TT hands. Hands will appear around you and if they don't die in 5 sec, kaboom. They have 100 health. So every class should bring a bow, just in case, so that they can handle these, but usually one guy will be assigned just to kill hands. It's essential that he doesn't shoot the boss! It's hard to switch targets and attack within 5 seconds, especially with a fast weapon.

Clone you say? Yes. And if you hit them once they go boom and deal 5000 damage to the entire party. This means no AoEing this boss... and that means no Heaven's Flame from BMs, QQ. Be careful about the clones. However, the clones quote Morpheus (Stop trying to hit me, and HIT ME!) which ultimately makes them my favourite mob in PWI thus far.

Now that the boss is dead, it's time to kill mobs. Let the Barb run around and gather them all, then everybody pounds on them. They're worth 20kish each with 12x exp, and there are something like 100 of them. It's amazing exp.

-Dragoons. They're like a watered-down version of the EXP room. They come right after the exp room, basically they're 46k exp each at 12x (for me) and there are 15. Not bad, huh?

-8th boss. This is a flying phoenix. A ranged class will shoot it then run down a ramp so that it gets pulled to ground level, where melee classes can engage it. It's really nothing special other than the fact that it dies REALLY slowly.

-9th boss. Holeen. Painfully average boss. Put him down.

-10th boss, Fieltazzar (or something of the like). As long as BB is up you'll be fine. One of the least impressive final bosses ever. I don't remember too much about him off the top of my head, but you'll all be fine.

Fieltazzar drops flawless shards, people grab, qq about how they got the flawless amber, and leave. Congrats, you just did FCC/FF.

Looking back on this, you probably should have just read the FF guide in this board. But I took time writing this so **** it, I'm posting. x)

    Hi,

Some classes have difficult tasks and should wait til they are 80+ or even 85+ before doing FF; other classes, not so much. Venos are important because they can tank some, if not all, bosses and give the barb or off-tank a break, in addition to Amp/Purge on bosses, and providing chi to healers/tanks. Since you're already 77, I suggest you level to 80+ and then attempt FF squads (which will allow you to have access to more squads).

However, if you are really keen on picking up FF (despite early frustrations) at your current level, I suggest finding a group of higher level friends/acquaintances/faction-mates that will have the patience and desire to teach you through all the steps in the instance and show/teach you the role of venos in FF. From experience, many random squads only care about leveling in FF (especially true in higher level squads), so learning will be nearly impossible (as you found out from your "rushed" run).

As a bonus, I suggest you acquaint yourself with the instance from Alphae's guide: Guide to Frost-Covered City (Frost) . This way you'll be already prepared with the different roles of other classes, including your class, next time you run an FF.

    Cheers!

As said above, just follow the tank. However the tank sometimes pulls a hall of mobs back to a room. If you see the cleric isn't following there usually is no reason to follow the tank and you can wait untill he returns.

The bosses are pretty well described by Falcondance. Do remember if you use a pet at the first boss you will have to put it on manual so you can get him out of the circles.
Also at the screaming boss (fifth, asoteric runewolf) I personally don't bring a pet out. Since it'll most likely get killed.

always use amp on bosses btw :) and try to synchronise it with the bm's heavens flame :)

The last boss buffs himself at a certain point, so be ready to purge it. It are cleric buffs so you'll easely recocnize it :)

When/if you have a herc you'll be expected to tank some bosses. There is one boss herc wont be able to tank in there (just noticed Falcon forgot that one) The name is something with fragarance. She uses a debuff like pole/nob (never know which one) and she also stuns every now and then. This boss comes before the phoenix.

The phoenix eats chi I heard, so that's why squads like it when a herc tanks it. It's hard to keep agro for barbs without chi :P

    So far bosses,
at mobs just spam noxious and drop your pet at the shade-mob (if there is one) if you put it on one of the normal mobs your pet will keep running back if a mob dies otherwise ;)

The cleric will put up a BB. I usually send the cleric a spark right after. This makes the run go smoother and faster. During bosses I usually send sparks to either the bm for heavens flame or to a higher lvl'd DD(89+ for demon/sage spark)

And well.. that's about it for a veno's job :)

Thanks for all the answers, guys! And yeah, I have a herc, and on my first run they had me tank that Dread guy and something else.. I think it was the guy who spawns the clones and hands because the cleric was plume shotting the hands. I'll probably not really focus on it until 80. Thanks for all the info, it really helped. (:
