So I spend all this coin on level 79 Untamed Wrath, looking at the skill tree and reading the description it fits perfectly in with the good ol' tanking barb that I am...

Talk about ruining a great day... Human form only - really?

"A tremendous roar that causes great hatred and temporarily stuns all nearby targets."

Human form only... wow so I decided to do, yes, what I probably should have done in the first place, instead of TRUSTING that the skill tree was actually Relevant.. I look online... what do I find - all the 79 and 100 skills are - yes human form.


Well thanks PWI for making a tanking tiger and giving us jack late game skills.

I have read/heard a lot how it gets frustrating being a tiger tank... but this was truly the most disappointed I have been!

Two things need to be done - 1 in the skill tree mark which skills are tiger form and which are human form (not learned skill tree but the skill tree you can see all skills in) and 2 - Untamed Wraith needs to be used in Tiger form. Also Clean Sweep should be tiger form as well.

It is hard enough to hold aggro from all these DDers you need to give us something to use end game to help us keep aggro better.

I'm was anticipating that skill for so long, and now to have spent all that coin and time to be this disappointed... man it is just a shame.

If a skill isn't going to be allowed in Tiger form then don't put it in the tiger form area on the skill tree - even better mark things clearly before they are learned - and give us Tigers these higher level skills!

(and yes my assassin is my avatar, but still!!)

    Its mostly used for pk to avoid stunlocks.

    I still find it useful for pulling in FCC because I can have the cleric stack me in human form and I start running, use violent triumph, and change to tiger form. Hp is regenerated by stacked IH and the ranged magic mobs don't slow me down, making the pull much safer.

    Also works well for the mobs in FCC in the magic hall that the BM normally grabs if you feel like grabbing yourself.


    It has its uses...That being said I also thought it was a tiger form skill and was disappointed to see it as a human skill.

    He was talking about Untamed Wrath, not Violent Triumph. I use UW all the time in PvP. I use it when mighty swing is in cool down, or when i need to cancel. I don't really use it for aggro purposes, though i tried. Btw, if they let us have those skills in tiger form, we would probably be too over powered. They give us those skills in human form to make up for the lack of damage we do normally. That's how i perceive it anyways.

    Both 79 skills are HUMAN FORM, and IMO those are not that usefull in aggro matter, if not useless...

    then, CLEAN SWEEP is HUMAN FORM, but as the 79 skills is mostly for pk situation...

    lastly, ANCESTRAL RAGE is TIGER FORM, but since it has like 5minutes CD it wont help you in tanking, it's a great skill to start a fight tho...




    that being said i find VIOLENT TRIUMPH very helpfull both in FCC and delta (saves lots of apots)...

    i have yet to learn UNTAMED WRATH since i dont need it atm, but its nice to have it if you are against a stealthed sin.

    hun hun hun hunnnnn look late game barb is really to aggitate aggro like in a rebirth..if you want full aggro run with arcanes or otherwise plz stop crying.

    Yah, lol. Christmas eve and I have a few things going on around me so I started typing, got distracted and finished post, then realized half my post talked about UW other half talked about VT and I was jumbling them. Thought I remembered him talking about VT so I erased the stuff that applied to UW, lol.

    Okay, for Untamed Wrath I use it in pk as an interupt and to buy time while other skills are in cooldown.

    For pve I use it on ranged mobs, mostly on harpies. I usually don't bother switching to bow for the pitiful damage so if a harpy is too far away I use beastial onslaught, and then UW. This normally gets aggro on me long enough that the harpy dies before he starts attacking, or doing too much dmg to the arcanes. I also have found it useful for buying half a second in zhen pulls when I arma'd and not everything died, but everything started attacking me with only 50% hp. I UW'd and it was long enough for IH to tick a few times and fill me back up. Sunder, Surf, human, arma, UW. Beauty of a zhenning combo if mobs last long enough complete combo.

    First of all, I don't consider this crying... I'm not whining about it, I'm pissed about it.

    I spent a lot of coin, and since I can't afford to buy zen, coin is not the easiest to get... to find out that a spell, that is located near all the other Tiger Spells, is NOT a tiger spell at all.

    then to look at the PW Skill tree on the wiki and see all the 79 and 100's are human that is another rip off for TIGER Barbarians.

    I don't pvp, and its a shame to get a use out of an aggro spell I need to change back and forth from Tiger to 'Human Form'

    But I do appreciate the replies that give me ways to try and make use of this thing useful, but I'm still pretty disappointed in the lack of Tiger Skills late game.

    (FYI not He but She one reason I use my assassin as an avatar cuz the Tigers are all guys lol)

    Basically just venting, sorry for anyone who wasted their time reading.

    I do appreciate the input, the sad truth this still irks the heck out of me, I was really looking forward to having a new skill to use and instead I wasted a ton of cash... oh well I know nothing will be done, because I'm sure in PWI's eyes their is nothing broke LOL

    Again, i dont know if you know which AGGRO SKILLS we have, but 79-100 arent for those kind of purpose...


    An AGGRO SKILL is a spammable skill which generate an X value of aggro, so the ones you are ranting about ARE NOT CONSIDERED AGGRO SKILLS, cuz of CD and the lack of added aggro (like FR, DEVOUR or ROAR, which tells it in description)

    btw the boost in damage and status modifier have some uses in aggro matter...but is veeeeeeery low

    I did, so http://pwi-wiki.perfectworld.com/index.php/Barbarian_Skill_List is wrong, that's cool.. Yeah its good we finally get a ranged attack in tiger form, but I don't know if it is worth the money it will cost to get the spell...

    So not only is it in the wrong spot on the skill tree (which would indicate it is a tiger form skill) it is also miss labeled as an aggro spell - cuz I don't know about anyone else, but when I hear that it causes "Great Hatred" that tells me it makes the mob, well hating me even more, hence causing me to have a higher aggro then someone doing more damage. And a Non-Chi, more hatred spell, every minute works for me, add that to an AOE that makes it even better. As it is Roar has the same cooldown time, and stack that with it not really being very powerful, made me think this was the upgrade for that spell. Obviously I was wrong, but it would be nice for PWI to clarify things better, when you have to actually spend a lot of coin for the spell itself.

    I see the stun effect being useful in PVP, but its not like this spell will cause more aggro to the tank on real life players...

    The aoe stun gives aggro, but not that much.
    But it's still useful in gv for example where you aoe alot mobs and your roar and genie skill is in cooldown. Also while you in human form you can throw in Armageddon to get even more aggro^^

    i use untamed wrath not so much as an aggro builder as a chi builder especially when aoe grinding to get me up to 2 sparks to armageddon.

    as for tanking near end game.. depending on the damage dealers you are with, if you stay on axe build you can sometimes tank by simply out damaging your squad members. IE with Dragons Vibrancy +2 using the combo of demon spark -> demon onslaught -> penetrate armor I can out dps similar level fist users that don't have their interval yet. After spark duration: Demon Slam -> Untamed Wrath -> Demon BKI -> Demon Slam then a couple normals, and your combo is ready again. I enjoy chaining some 16k + crits on TT bosses b:pleased. Now normally if those fisters are sparking each chance they get and you're tanking tiger form, youre more apt to loose aggro to them.


    anywho.. if the DD is capable of tanking, let em I say. saves on repair bills :)

    when soloing scarred my combo is pretty much this:

    round up mobs of course -> invoke -> bestial rage -> demon roar -> sunder -> swap to humanoid -> ToP -> (chug a mana pot) -> Arma -> drop to tiger and surf impact the last couple mobs

    I don't solo... no need, my best friend is a cleric and I pretty much don't play my main without her, and my other friend is a Wizard and we pretty much will just trio everything and if they aren't on I play my veno or do Paperclip lol

    My Wizard friend got this spell at 79 - Undined something or whatever, but basically it does a debuff on the mob so his spells (and other casters) do even more damage and I am already seeing a problem keeping aggro on bosses that I never had before.

    I have good armor, and a good weapon, I do decent damage for a tiger, but there is no way to out damage those casters (wiz and psy both in the group). I can only flesh or devour so much without having to chug chi pots.

    It just doesn't make sense that PWI can't see a basic problem that their tank class has problems keeping aggro in the form they give us to use for it, they put a spell in the game that sounded like it was there to HELP this situation - I mean causes GREAT HATRED - come on PWI at the very least change the stupid skill description (as well as the location of the icon in the tree) so that we don't get our hopes up, like I did, and was totally disappointed.
