"This server does not support resume" when downloading installer files (data2.pck)

My router crashed during the initial download of the game. I've since moved the installer files to another computer to resume the download, but before that, I tried to resume my download from where it left off after the crash, only to get 2 distinct error messages each time i tried to resume.

"This server does not support resume" b:shocked

and

"Disconnected from server"

I don't understand... the installer has a resume feature, but the server doesn't support it? I know this is not a problem with my connection, or the computer where it failed... i restarted all my computer, and networking equipment and got the same error message. When I moved the files to my other computer, it restarted the download of data2.pck from the beginning,so I lost a good bit of progress. b:cry

You may have to redownload the game on the other computer, and then install it.

Something may have gotten corrupted on the previous download.
Do you need help learning about patching the game, installing it, changing antivirus/firewall settings, changing network settings, learn how to use a computer, keeping your PC maintained and more?

nothing was corrupted. your install download server disconnected me because it didn't support the resume feature that is included in the game installer. The error message "This server does not support resume" is very revealing

There are many safety precautions that the system will try to prevent bad things from accessing the servers. If you put the install files onto another computer, it may not resume, or the IP addresses on your end may have changed and were denied access.

It may also have a time period in between allowing it to resume, or there were too many people trying to download the game at the same time.

This is not an issue on my side. There is nothing wrong with my computers, or my hardware. The computer that failed to download the game was in the middle of downloading data2.pck. When my router crashed, I restarted the router, then tried to resume the download of data2.pck. It failed several times telling me that your server does not support resume.

After that failed, I moved the installer and the entire folder where the download was being stored (including the partially downloaded data2.pck) then ran the downloader from there. I told it where to save, then told it to continue. Instead of resuming data2.pck from where it left off, it simply deleted data2.pck and started downloading it over from scratch. (Which means it did not resume in the middle of the file).

It is not a time period issue either as I just tried again from the original computer that failed and still get the same error message, and it has been more than 24 hours since I last tried the download.

"This server does not support resume" generally means exactly what it says. I am a computer geek, and tend to know these things.
