Use Macro for LvL 20 Archers

I am a LvL 20 Archer pure Build 4 dex, 1 str every lvl Archer. I've played archers off and on for awhile just exploring the class. In my travels through the World I've seen many Archers around this LvL Struggling with Mobs as they quest. The Main Issue I see is the mobs getting into Melee range. Unless your a Hybrid and have placed points into Vit and are using a second weapon class this can be a hazard to Archer's. I have a Solution to this it's Simple Macro that has served me well and I use it as soon as I can at lvl 20.
Skills to keep upto date:
Blazing Arrow
Frost Arrow
Lvl 39 Skill:
Stunning Arrow
You Notice the Knock Back arrow is not mentioned to lvl. Lvl 1 Knock back is sufficient for this macro.
Benefits of this Macro:
A: 98% of the time Mobs never get into Melee range and if they do they are easily 1 or 2 shotted. ( Note: Increased Defense and Increased Life Mobs are still a Issue even with this Macro)
B: Saves coin on HP Pots and Lowers repair, Mana is still going to cost you alot.
C: This Macro Works best with the Crossbow you receive from FB 19 Quest reward and any Class weapons we can use from this point on. ( Class weapons: Bows, Crossbows and Sling's)
Macro Skills
Shot 1: Frost ( You should have this skill at lvl 3 at this stage ) Slows the Mob down and gives you time
Shot 2: Normal Attack
Shot 3: Normal attack ( By this time the Mob is almost half way to Melee range This is a bad thing and where shot 4 helps)
Shot 4: Knock back ( knocks the mob back from you thus giving you more time to attack and kill it )
Shot 5 from there on Normal attacks
With This macro the Mob should be dead by the 6th shot maybe the 7th Shot. As I mentioned above this is for any Mob you come across that IS NOT a Increased Life or Increased Defense Type Mob.
This Macro stands on it's own until Lvl 39 98% of the time, at lvl 39+ you are going to want to add a New Skill behind the Knockback Arrow. The New addition will be Stunning Arrow. So at lvl 39 your Macro will be this:
Shot 1: Frost Arrow
Shot 2: Normal Attack
Shot 3: Normal Attack
Shot 4: Knock Back Arrow
Shot 5: Stunning Arrow
Shot 6+ Normal attack.
The Stunning arrow Does as the name State's, granted it doesn't work every shot but when it does you will be greatful for it.
How to set up a Macro: For those who don't know how to set it up I'll explain it here
Looking at the Bottom right hand of the game screen you see a bar where you go for your Inventory, Character Stats etc etc. Click the 3rd Icon from the left, The Crossed weapon and Shield Icon, Also known as your Skill screen.
On the Bottom of this new window you will see the fallowing:
Edit
Delete
New
Click the New Button This pulls up a second window that will allow you to set your macro up. Keep the first window open aka the skills window as you will be dragging the skills over to the second screen.
Once you have the second screen open you will notice alot of Icons on the bottom of it. These Icon are representations for the macro just select one of your liking.
Ok Now to set the macro up. There are 8 slots that are empty.
Step 1: From the Skills window click and drag the Frost Arrow to the first slot on the left.
Step 2: Below the empty Slot are 2 Icons one is a green sword and the other Is walk behind the enemy Icon. Drag the green sword to the next slot behind Frost Arrow.
Step 3: Repeat Step 2 for the green Icon
Step 4: From the skill screen drag Knock Back arrow and place it behind the SECOND Green Sword Icon
Step 5: Place 2 More green Sword Icons behind the Knock back Arrow.
Step 6: If you haven't already selected a Icon for the macro do so now and then click Save.
This will Close the second screen out, Thats fine but you need to Take the new Icon for your Macro from the Skills screen and drag it to a ready slot where you normally set your attacks. Then Close out the skill screen/
From This point Just Click that Macro Icon and Continue questing. But remember at lvl 39 to edit your Macro and add the Stunning Arrow behind the Knock back Arrow, then 2 Normal attacks.
Happy Hunting and I hope this helps you in the game.
Note:
Many of you high lvl players may find this abit Stupid and will want to Flame. Spam or just be rude Please do me a favor and resist the urge. I am only trying to help Those who I see struggling with away I found that has made it easier for me. Thank you

It's good to see that there are people willing to help the rest with advices ( not counting all the high lvl archers with their guides and tips ) and give them as much information as possible. Bravo for that. Can I just add a little of my personal experience ? We are talking about that macro :Wyld_Elf - Dreamweaver wrote: »Shot 1: Frost Arrow

Shot 6+ Normal attack.
Shot 1 : Frost Arrow - the perfect opening skill for these levels - dealing decent damage and slowing down the enemy.
Shot 2 & 3 : Normal Attack - yep, indeed. Archers are mostly counting on their normal attacks and using only 2 or 3 skills in a fight. Just our damage is good enough and a few normal attacks might even deal a better damage than a skill because of skill's casting time.
Shot 4 : Knockback arrow : Also another great skill, but I would suggest to use stun arrow first. This way you are stunning the target and you have time to make another normal attack which means more damage and reduced chance for the enemy to reach you.
Shot 5 : Since we switched the places of Knockback and Stun, this is where the normal attack will take place.
Shot 6 : Knockback arrow - by this time the enemy will be close enough to hit you and your damage will be reduced by half. Knockback time!
Shot 7+ : Normal attacks only. If the mob is too strong or you missed a few shots I advise you to use stun arrow again.
Not trying to flame you or something, just sharing experience0 -

I Agree But If you Look Closely I mentioned 2 Macros The Stunning Arrow Is Not available until lvl 39. So Between LvL's 20 and 39 Stunning Arrow is out of the equation.
That Being said, You do Have a point here and Either Option works. The way I have done it has stunned the Target/Mob allowing me two maybe 3 Free shots before he started moving again after knocking him back. Basically Knocking him back stopping him in his tracks and then he is either dead when he can move again or he is dead after 3 steps forward.
I Thank you for the Constructive Information. I didn't take this as a flaming. If enough responses Come from this it might be a good Idea to Sticky it. (( Although I have seen better options for sticky threads))0 -
I would personally use Stunning Arrow first cause at the lower levels,Stunning Arrow has a rather moderate chance of missing so if I miss,I get to knockback. If Stunning Arrow hits, you will be able to get one or two attacks before Knockback.
If you start with Knockback first and use Stunning Arrow after that, you will be channelling Stunning Arrow and the mob has time to come to you before Stunning hits.
But in all,it's also up to personal preference.A
Also to add,at 29,you get your first one spark skill:Aim Low.This skill can be more effective than Stunning Arrow because it freezes(hold the monster in place)for a longer duration than Stun. However, this costs you one spark and you might consider whether to use that Spark to Spark or to Aim Low.Aim Low is much better on melee mobs than ranged and magic mobs compared to Stunning Arrow. Here's why:Melee mobs when frozen or stunned will not be able to attack you either way but ranged/magic mobs might still be in range to attack you.Oh btw,the description for Aim Low is wrong. It freezes instead of stunning as said in the description.
Just mentioning it since you mentioned up to 39.0 -
Kage
Thats a Idea as well. I've never played much with Spark Skill's Simple reason behind it is I prefer to Use them for Bosses Like Quingzi, Farren etc etc.
But for this Macro Having 2 Chi Skills is abit rough especially at lvl 20. Take Aim granted is a Lvl 29 Skill and we get our first Spark dbling our Chi. Personally I think on Normal Mobs, which is where I see alot of Issues where archers die at this stage I am only trying to Increase survivability. Having a Second Chi Skill for common non Instance related quests is abit over kill.
The way I have it has served me well and I am not saying it's perfect by all means. Many higher ups say around lvl 30+ maybe able to improve it. If it works for you then go for it. This Macro is only a Starting point, Improve it twist it, use it, throw it away. It's up to each individual preference.0 -
spend some coin and buy HP pots to make up for the 1 or 2 hits you will take in the lower lvls. if the mob reaches you and they have 2.5k HP or more left then you might want to consider getting a better weapon b/c chances are your gear is old. same goes for damage... if your getting hit too hard upgrade some stuff. untill you start getting more crit hits (1 to 3 per monster) you will have this problem. b:victory0
