the best wway is to go out killing turtles until they drop enough hay. you can buy them from catshops too but its crazy expensive, and all you need to do is to be a bit patient and grind on the turtles, a couple of days of doing that and you ll get your hay.

The PWDatabase also gives you the type of monster that can drop hay and the drop rate for it. From experience I can say that the Rhinodrake Megalith which can be found to the west of Archosaur is best for farming for hay based on several factors such as:

    1. How early you encounter it (it's lvl 22, so just the time when you want to think about expanding)
    2. Its drop rate for hay is relatively high
    3. It's easy to kill. I usually three-shot mine before they do damage
    4. They spawn in abundance, so even if here's a few players farming hay there's still enough of them.

Now I say their drop rate is good. This is based on their drop rate when killed by a lvl 22 player. Drop rates for any items when a monster is killed by a higher lvl player are greatly reduced with lvl difference. But since they are so easy to kill even at lvl 22 you don't have to worry about taking too much damage. they're also ranged, so they won't home in and do massive melee damage. I know that th chart on a above site refers to several higher level monsters with better drop rate, but these are also harder to kill, so it takes longer to kill them, and therefore the drop rate is decreased.

The most decent highish level drop rate is from the antelope pups near the silver pool. At around level 50 I was getting one hay per 10 kills on average.

So yeah, that's 500 antelopes. Good luck!
