What level should I begin grinding?

Hi, Im just wondering what level is advised to start grinding for money (exp and spirit)

Im a level 53 cleric, and this is my first character this level. I was very careful about my money and I searched everything up on forums, although I still made a couple of money-spending mistakes. I can't say that im broke, but those 350k in my bank are just enough to have enough money for spells b:pleased

So Im wondering:

Am I considered poor for my level?
Should I create a new (veno) alt so i can earn more?
Should I start grinding?

Also, if I start grinding, wouldnt it mean that by level 6x I would still be pretty poor and VERY behind on all the quests? b:shocked

Help!
Hating ain't cool.

is 350K at level 53 poor? idunno. i think i had a mil or so at that point (i've got maybe a mil and a half now, at 58), but i'm a veno.

when to start grinding? i started about the time the regular quests wouldn't get me all the way to the next level anymore. lately i've had to do a BH or two, and/or another part of the tideborn quest chain to cut down the boredom; i still end up doing several hours' worth of grinding to finish a level.

should you make a veno alt? depends --- how much crafting do you do? a level 30-something veno is efficient at grinding crafting mats, and you might want one for that purpose more than merely for coin.

will it put you behind on quests? nah, no reason it should. do your quests for a level first, then fill in any remaining XP with grinding, that way you'll keep up to date. that works for me, anyway.

    Hi poison_ice,

I didn't start grinding on my cleric until my 90s because I've spent a lot of time doing TTs, collecting mats for gears and such, but I would recommend that in your state, focus on getting to 70 first with some decent wood resistant armors (make that your grinding armor set :D). At level 5x, that questing area, Tusk Town is really crowded and you want to get those quests out of the way before starting a grind session later.

I also wont recommend to focusing on full TT gears until level 90 (you don't need to make TT80 gears to decompose to make lvl 90 TT green), but rather, use TT weapons and some TT jewelry at level 80, Hat of the Drum Master (TT80 head armor) if you can also manage to get it :)

I went mostly with molded armors, or armors with -3% channeling on my cleric from 50-89 as you are constantly changing between these stages.

If you're truly in need of money, I recommend spending about 1-2 hours in a 1 on 1 grind session to NPC your DQ mats (if you're not doing DQ quests). Or start farming wine/TT mats to sell in west archosaur.

Also, to help you out financially, keep your important skills upgraded, leave out the seals (unless you plan to pvp), siren's kiss, flight mastery, chromatic healing beam, stream of rejuvenation and purehearted blessing. (you can level those once you maxed out everything else).

Here is a video I am going to share about grinding and what I recommend to collect a separate armor with high wood resistance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A4suCatmKfw

As you can see, the cleric in this example was trying to round the mobs close together while purifying herself and then doing aoe dmg (razor feathers) to the whole group. I think it's the excellent way of grinding for clerics, and it's much better than spamming pet heal on my veno. The only downside to this is mana usage. I've done my calculations using the Herb Yuanxiao's (if you have that luxury, I would recommend buying tokens to exchange for Herb Yuanxiaos as those do wonders). Doing dmg 1 on 1 will probably consume 1 every 3-4 fights compared to using 1 with a group of 10.

If you need additional advice or opinion, feel free to reply, and good luck.
I quit PW and all its games it had to cater to me. I'm off playing a better pay-to-play game where I experience no glitches, no spamming LF squads, lose stuff in PK mode, lose exp on death or anything for cheaper price than what I paid for here. However, I'll still be lurking around pwi forums from time to time. Quit Date: March 4, 2011 RIP my beloved characters. b:bye

It really depends what you've spent money on.

350k in the bank with reasonable-ish gear and spent all your spirit? You're doing great.

350k in the bank with only one skill bought, and no gear? You're doing badly.

Still - I think your level is one of the first ones I skipped; by which I mean "Spent the entire level just killing mobs for one-man-army and ignored my quests and didn't do BH and..." (I think this was the level I spent training up my pets in fact)
So yeah, about that level is when coin started to get tight for me. And stayed tight until I got lucky in the cube and started to merchant stuff, frankly.

Go kill yourself some schrunchkin, see how you feel about it after that. You'll make more money a bit later though - though TT mats are worth nothing like they used to be, they do still sell.

    A. Botting is illegal in PWI and will result in a permaban.
    B. Don't necro threads, make new ones.
