What better way to put an old character to rest than to have a funeral?

Invite your guild to pay respects to the lifeless corpse of an old character as its casket is slowly lowered into the ground. For 5 gold you can get a tombstone to forever mark your final burial place.

Whenever you try to log in again as that character you can only log in as a ghost and cannot interact with or speak to any players that are still alive (you can see other ghosts though).

    Would this be used if the character dies, or is deleted..?
    Seems like a waste of time/gold to do it every time you die..

    in general a funny idea but maybe hard to manage with the database

    i like it.

    the grave could go away if the dead character is ever finally deleted, perhaps fading slowly over the one week's deletion wait. where to put the graves, in-game? maybe something for the new faction bases?
