hey,
I'm a lv52 veno.
I have a Glacial walker for pet witch is strong but very slow, I wanted a second (more faster) pet to. I tamed a guardian wolf for that. the skills are flesh realm, howl and boost. The questian is should I replace some skills or what skills you think is best?
I have seen somewhere its better to have a faster pet for some bosses in dungions because you have to lure them. Or do you know better pets for that? PS. Sorry for my bad writhing.b:questionb:thanks

gratz on ur new pet !!!! , i have a lvl 61 guardian wolf and he is an excellent pet for regular luring.
The fastest pet is Kowlin , but its bad defences make it quite fragile , also it is a rare pet which means it only spawns every 12 hours so getting it can be either really difficult or really expensive.
The prenium luring pet is the Eldergoth marksman (lvl 41) , when u make it attack without any skills in "auto use' it attacks from a distance making it an excellent lurer , and one of the few pets that can tank bosses while the walker or magmite couldnt. marksman is also a pet that wont easily lose it's value at later lvls
now as for skills , the guardian wolf begins with lvl 3 flesh ream which is a good skill cause the bleed icon shows when the mob has received dmg , and the DoT helps to ensure the lured mob will come to u = succesive lure
next one is howl which is an excellent debuff skill , it lowers magic defence , which can help u or ur squad , luring or not.
boost is a healing skill but i find its uses minimal to none , dont lvl it at all
i have used a Tough scroll ( reduces dmg received from enemy attacks) , i always use this when i try to lure , cause i'm sure that my wolf will survive any attacks till it can attack the mob i currently target. i have it at lvl 3 atm going to max it at lvl 80 . i advice tough as ur first choice if u aim to keep the wolf and not go for a range pet or another luring pet.
if u have the money replace boost with slow or maybe an elemental bash ( bashes can be found at auction house for less money than the Zoologist at south east Archosaur)[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

thx alot for the info, I was thinking about a kowlin but with your advice I think I leave it.
Now I have to choose between an eldergoth marksman and my guardian wolf. Maybe I can take both of them and leave my glacial walker. Do you think its a good combination?0 -
I'd reccomend against dropping the tank pet. It's a necessity for most venos. At your level, I don't see anything wrong about keeping all three. It's a good time to play around with them and see what works best for you.
Personally, I don't feel that it's as important to keep luring pets at your level, but it depends on your style of luring:
- If you plan on luring with your tank pet, it should be at your level.
- If you plan on luring with a debuff pet, it needs to be at a reasonable level compared to what you're pulling so that it can survive a couple hits while it applies the debuff. This becomes somewhat situational, as, depending on your pet bag, you wouldn't necessarily use the same pet to pull something in a bh/fb as you would to pull something like wurlord.
- If you plan on luring with a ranged pet, then the levels don't matter as much seeing as how you can get new luring pets. My eldergoth never had a problem pulling and I picked up a level 91 cactopod from Eden, who hasn't gained any levels, and has yet to fail pulling for me due to it's death.
Eventually, you will probably have to make a choice between the eldergoth and the wolf, but it shouldn't be too much of an issue until you reach 100+ and the experience required to keep your pets up at your level gets obscene. This doesn't mean that you have to trash your pets, just that levelling one will take priority over the other.0 -
I guess I can try them all out and see whats best to keep. I do wish it wasnt that expencive for having extra slottbags.i only need to learn and praktice some more. Thx for the advice, this is realy helpfull. b:pleasedb:flower0

Survivability helps in luring. It can come from speed, range, def/hp, and evasion. Evasion is the most unreliable. Speed is made obsolete by range. Def and HP are slower but allow flexibility for debuff luring (like using threaten on an armored bear). The Def and HP method eventually loses favor and the longer range cactos from Eden take over for the Eldergoth ranged pets. The Eldergoth can remain useful as a range tanker however. The wolves make decent cheap grind pets and the Lunar Lupin may overshadow the others because it comes with Lv.5 Howl before it's even available for the other pets. The wolves I don't believe are worth investing skills in though. A starter Scorpion or Dark Wanderer and a couple other pets I think are more worthy of the long haul.Be kind: Help the GMs to depopulate the servers.0 -
by the way , the armored bear ( rare pet) is both a good tanking pet and a really good luring one , as it comes with the right skills and good stats. it's price is a little less than Kowlin ( at least in my server) and it's a pet with more uses than the kowlin imo. Worths considering too.
however it is available at lvl 80 , so by that time , a marksman could still be better to use at certain situations.
but it looks cool ............ ehem[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
