demon vanguard/ magic shell

Hi, my cleric is going to go demon, (assuming i ever hit 89)

and i had a question about demon vanguard/ spirits gift

they both have the same effect saying

25% chance to give both you and the target 25 chi

is that 25 chi in addition to th base chi it gives? or just 25?

and if u self cast will u get 50 chi? one from each effect? or just 25?

regardless its awesome for getting chi
Killing level 80's with a lvl 60 is a lot more fun than killing level 90's with a level 100.

    I have both demon vanguard and Magic shell and the only reason to get them in my mind is they last an hour, instead of only 30min. For one thing its only 25% chance to gain extra chi, and from what I hear its only on target. Soo... yeah kinda meh.

    I assume you mean Magic Shell since Demon SG does nothing of the sort b:surrender

    base chi you get from buffs is very little (maybe 5?) so its not really noticable if they stack or not. If you use it on yourself, it depends on the proc. You could either get 25 for yourself, 25 for being your own target or 50 if both combined. I agree, its awesome to get Chi, i made a Vanguard/Magic Shell macro just for that purpose xD

    It has chance to give extra chi to target only. So its only useful if you want to play a veno and send someone sparks. Usless they changed it lately which i doubt.
    25 chi is extra chi, you get 5 for each cast

    Actually pretty certain you are wrong, you're just going off of the skill description which is incorrect. Only the target will get chi, if you are the target and it procs you'll get 30 chi 5 for casting it and 25 for the bonus.

    let me re-phrase that for you, I am certain you're wrong. The skill only gives chi to the target. I was so certain/had nothing better to do that I went and tested this on a lovely afk barb, and then catshop because the barb had to leave. I macro'd the 2 skills and casted them watching my chi go up, I never saw my chi go up and I filled my 3 sparks 4 times, then re-logged to empty chi. effectively casting this skill 320 times, while never getting a proc effect.

    So in conclusion, the skill description is wrong. It will only give chi to the target, and not the caster. Unless the caster is the target.

    So i went and tested it again myself (cause i was certain too). Turns out you're right and i was wrong. I appologize b:surrender
    I was so sure it worked cause my Chi filled up fast even by using it on others. Sry for any confusion caused.
