looking for insight as to how these mobs are dealing over 1100 dmg in one hit. not every one does it, but it kills me often enough to investigate so i can prevent it. pwdatabase says max physical is 407 dmg and max magical is 570 dmg. am i getting critted? i dont think i remember any other mobs critting, and the ones doing it to me do not have increased attack or increased magic and do it more than just once in an encounter. b:beatenupb:puzzledb:irritated

If you're a sin, you're probably hitting ones that cast bramble on themselves, which reflects damage back.

that makes sense, trying to sleep them on first hit. is it a 50% reflect for bramble?

Consider your base physical attack (On the "C" screen) and then think of how much you hit with your skills. You should be able to work it out from there. If not, someone will post you a tasty calculation soon enough.

Ugh, those things are horrible for any melee class. Worst for sins, though.

What you're experiencing, is mob bramble.

You should already know what bramble does, but if you don't, it takes a certain % of the melee damage you deal, and deals it back to you in physical damage. I'm pretty sure the reflect % of those mobs are only around 50%, maybe a little more.

That 50% wouldn't be too bad if it was on a player in a duel, since your damage is reduced by 75%, but against mobs, that 50% is much more significant, since your damage against them is much more significant.

Just be really careful when you see the snake completely stop attacking for a second, it usually means they're about to bramble, and you need to kite them for a bit until it wears out.

The melee snakes you can kite, the magic ones will start to stack poison if you move away, making them very annoying.

You kind of have to stun/sleep and stand at melee range until the buffs run out.
