An unusual issue loading the client.

Okay, I've had my system for a while, upgraded the OS, and I do a LOT of software testing so I figured that this was a result of that. Recently, (last Friday), my Hard Disk totally failed. Won't spin up at all anymore, total data loss. Got a new HD, ran a whole slew of tests on my system, and then proceeded to install windows. What's the first thing I do after Windows is up? Not import my backup data, nooooo, I load PWI. It runs great, nice FPS, the usual ping rates no worries. We're talking clean install here, I haven't even loaded a video driver yet, just using what Microsoft felt worked.
Next step, I load up my drivers, get it all up and putting along smoothly, and reboot the system for good measure. Now PWI is giving me the same issue it did before. Takes the launcher a minute to load, and two minutes to get to the login screen if I'm lucky. If I happen to be that lucky, we're looking at a framerate between 2 and 4.
So I do a hard boot. Power system down, bleed the leftover energy, wait a minute and power it back up. System comes back up, client does the same thing again. Second time same thing, third time it loads like a racehorse and I'm up and running smoothly.
I can play for a while, shut it down, fire it up, and it will work fine, or it won't. No rhyme or reason for it.
DxDiag shows all aces, I've got no antivirus software gadgets or anything installed yet. It's just PWI and Windows, yet for some reason, it's totally random as to whether the client will launch properly or not. Anyone have any clues?
System info: (because I really hate it when ppl ask questions and don't give this)
OS is Win 7 Ultimate, 32-bit. (was running 64-bit previoulsy, will likely re-install 64-bit in an hour or so, or set for dual-boot)
Intel Core2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz (2.39GHZ actual)
4.00 GB Ram installed, (2.99GB free as I am writing this, Windows eats a lot)
Nvidia GeForce 8800GT 512MB Video card with most current driver package.
Windows experience Index was 5.6 without drivers, (low point being the processor and Ram).
It is now the same with drivers as I have this window open.

Damn code tag broke so it's not all there. I'll upload it to my website later and link the file.
Anyway, at a total and complete loss as to why the engine has so much trouble sometimes. No processes eating CPU in the background, I've got nothing going on and it's slow as a slug.
Also note, It's just the windows firewall and the security on my routers between me and the world. I haven't put up a Virus scanner yet or anything else of that nature.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
Wow, somehow it posted twice. Not sure how that happened. ignore the other and use this one please

Check UAC settings?
Turn on windows updates and install all critical updates listed.
Install IE 8 even if is not your default web browser. Install the latest version of Flash.Do you need help learning about patching the game, installing it, changing antivirus/firewall settings, changing network settings, learn how to use a computer, keeping your PC maintained and more?

All updates installed, updated Flash, (hadn't installed that yet), also ran 64-bit. (oddly HD marks lower on windows experience with 64-bit). It's behaving at the moment, but it did that before, then suddenly the client wouldn't start properly. As near as I can tell, it's totally random. I'll post again if it starts failing again as it appears to be working ok now.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
Update: It's still doing it. both in 64-bit and in 32-bit. All updates have been installed.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

Hi Sylen ... i was googling for my issue and I found this thread ... my symptom is quite similar on different hardware.
I load the game, pass the login screen ... start the game and after playing for some mins ... the hard drive start spinning madly, game freezes ... I have all set to minimum and issue stays the same ... the only workaround I found is to kill perfect world, reboot, and start all over again ... I really dunno what to do or where to start troubleshooting the issue.

Sounds like you have a dying hard drive...
I'm not even going to start on the Intel GMA either...0 -

Hi Deora, please be aware that I'm not complaining about game performance, I know that I've a low end pc for a game, but it's kinda strange since I use same pc for wow and it doesn't happen.
But you're right ... I'll scan my hard drive for errors. thanks!
Please, if someone can remove this posts to keep troubleshooting original issue it would be greatly appreciated.0
