Clerics, figure out with your Barb counterparts how to use teamwork in Frost parties. I wasted 4 hours tonight in two parties because the cleric and barbs were arguing about where to put the BB down; either shade or in the hallway. JUST ****ING COMPROMISE.
Thanks!
Thanks!

lol, I didn't realize it was such an issue. I usually just go where the barb wants to go because I figure he knows what he's capable of better than I do.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Mhmm It hasnt always been this bad. When I started doing FC runs it was rare that I had a bad run. Sure it was hard to get into as a "noob in FC" but the party lived and XP was had and all rejoiced!
Lately, and I'm talking the last 2-3 days, things have been getting worse. More party members dying, more arguing, more wasting of hyper time, and fewer barbs around in general.
Anyone else noticing this or similar issues?0 -
Oh yes, there has been a royal shortage of barbs. I personally set up BB next to where the barb stops to invoke, and no barb has yet to complain about my playing style. (Set aside one whom blamed me for his death when he had not learned invoke. >.>)
As I am a cleric myself, I've not observed that many other clerics' playing style in FC.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

This. I always do this, except for the times when I haven't had a different barb in FC for the past few days and forget that all barbs have their limits: some smaller than others. b:shutup[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Same. I usually just BB'd at the spot the barb/puller stopped or hooked around at.
And usually there needs to be communication from the start about these things, especially for a squad who knows what they are doing. Presumptions lead to disasters and/or impending pointless arguments, and that's everyone's fault who didn't communicate if it ends up bad. Communication is absolutely necessary, and I don't see why there should be any arguing. I try to always BB where the barb wants, because he knows what he can do better than I do. The only issues I've ever had is misunderstandings on placement, or we fail to communicate before hand so I BB where I usually do and the barb does things differently.
However, I usually play with my fiance who is a barb. We are in the same room so communication is pretty simple and everything goes smoothly0 -

Strange.... I don't really have that issue..
It must be just a bad frost for you....
And yes teamwork is the key to success in every instance.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Last group where I did ask, "Hey, can we agree on where to put BB, hallway or Shades?", the leader of the party later whispered me and told me that three other members of the squad, including the Barb, had immediately whispered him afterwards and asked him to kick me for being 'such a noob' that I even had to ask that question. I always ask that question unless I've run with that Barb before, not just for my benefit of actually knowing, before it happens, where the Barb will stop, but also for the benefit of the others in squad.0 -
I ALWAYS put where the barb wants. No exceptions.
I usually assume shade if they do not speak up. If they barb says "I need to do a half/short pull to a door/hall corner" then I just say alright and go with it.
I mean, honestly, the barb knows what he can and cannot take. If he says hes gotta go to the hall, I'm not gonna **** around and whine at him. It doesn't hurt me to set it early.0 -
I go as far as the barb. The first 2-4 lures I learn how much he takes and go for that.
Only time that hasnt worked was when 1 barb sometimes toke 1 group and other times he toke alot more. And he wanted BB ewery time. -.-"0 -
I know we're talking barbs but I've been increasingly going barb-less in FF, partly due to just sage barb buffing my wife's BM and her pulling (she has ~ 9500 HP buffed). Last squad I went with had 3 sins, my cleric, her bm, and an archer, and the runs (we did like 3) lasted ~ 20m each since we did 3 runs in a full hour before the barb HP buff wore off. Hilariously, we did another FF together, I was on my archer (97), her on her cleric (101), where we had a BM who had like 5200 HP at level 99 doing all the pulls. Scared the **** outta me cuz I didn't want the wife's cleric to die but we actually did very well.
It seems to me when BM's pull, though it's likely to just be a cognitive sort of bias, they have a better idea where to go and are more apt to listen instead of argue. Rarely ask where to put BB. More often than not, when on my cleric, I'm giving directions instead of asking questions. A smart puller will wanna be on the same page as the cleric in their squad. If you're a confident cleric, use that to your advantage, because in the end, this will benefit you. Sounds selfish but it's you who is gonna town and burn XP or a GS if things go awry.0 -
My cleric isn't high enough for FCC yet. But in instances... I'd take a BM tank over a Barb tank EVERY TIME. Only exception is when the BM is not using axe/hammer... I did BH51 with a Barb, and the Barb used AOE all of ONCE in the entire instance. b:surrender The Wiz and Archer had to tank the mobs that the Barb didn't feel like attacking, since the barb only attacked one mob at a time, and didn't switch...
Whereas BM's run in, and AOE the living hell out of everything, so heal aggro is never an issue.101 Sage Sin*/Archer

it's called ventrilo........get it, use it, love it. Ventrilo works fine even if you don't have the entire squad on vent because even if u have just two or more members of the FCC squad on vent then you have that many people communicating almost simultaneously.JanusZeal - Heavens Tear wrote: »Same.
