To be absolutely honest, I would respect you guys WAY more if you simply admitted that the sale and TW changes were for the sake of making money.
I would actually not be that mad. I accept that people will always have better gear than me, because I don't play for 10hours a day or spend $1k a month. But when you insult our inteligence and act like we can't put 2 and 2 together, I get angry.

Frankie didn't get "owned". You don't have to soapbox about PWI making money because anyone with half of a rotted turnip running their central nervous system would realize that a company doing things to make money goes without saying.
Your two quotes both exhibit the same exact managerial principles. There's no contradiction whatsoever, you just don't like what they're saying. And yes, PWI has faltered on the execution of its principles, but you saying, "LOLOLOL LOOKIT I OWNT TA MANAGER WIT' MAH SUPER-BRO MIND POWERZ LOLOLOL," is far more stupid than any corporate bumbling on PWI's part, trust me.0 -

I am just tired of them giving us that other versions ****. I am not sure how it works. But I have played other versions and I noted that certain changes they opted out of (wont get specific) so why does PWI just sit there and let them ruin our version. The China devs just care about PWI China not PWI. Different countries different players and play styles. How thick are the managements heads to not see that? Also from what I hear certain "treats" we get in cash shop are not allowed to be sold there. Why did we not follow china on that since we seem to "follow" their tails on all the things that are bad for our version?0

Perhaps you should dig up GM's posts about how they want the gold prices to be lower... there have been numerous posts.
Then compare that with the fact they raised the cap on gold at AH from 1m to 3.999m and keep putting up sales that is keeping the gold over 800-1m.

But your message is correct. They changed TW payment and also the sale to make cash. It wasnt about evolvement of the game and other pw versions and godknowswhat. That's all bull**** and this is a smart marketing strategy as long as there are players who farm and/or cashshop. Barely saw that a company does care so little about its customers (cash and farm). You have to remember the GM's are paid employee's of PWI. Part of their job is representing the company, and no matter how true it may be that PW is being purely greedy, if the GM's voice that truth it will lose them a job. Simple as.
If PW decide to resort to pure greed to make money, the GM's have to roll with it. They don't make the game, the devs do. If they voice an honest opinion, they'll potentially lose the game players who decide to move on to a better game. No employer is going to keep someone who openly admits to their employers greed.
I'm sure frankie thinks we're all great (lol, we're probably more of a nightmare), but sure as heck not worth losing a well paid job over. If lying through their teeth earns their wage, then the GM's have to do it. I always suspected spoons went because of the numerous times I'd seen him mention how displeased he was with changes made ingame.
Point the finger of blame at the right people. Devs.0 -

PWI does what any company will do -- they go where the money is at. People have decided that rank, packs, and so on, is where it's at. Despite complaints from a very vocal crowd, this hasn't stopped people from playing. People are getting what they want. Obviously not everyone is going to get what they want, but really, F2P **** aside, it can be reasonably said what the paying player wants is the direction any smart company will head to.
I agree with the smear campaign stuff. It's a rather infantile one-upsmanship that is going on by the fashion that the OP is dissecting Frankie's post. It's quite concerning that he has declared TT and Nirvana to be obsolete in comparison to rank gear (see sticky'd thread), but it's clear that no matter what Frankie says there's going to be a population of players who, out of their own personal dissatisfaction with the game, will find things to play a "gotcha" game with. The issue is much more that one could say this sale is perhaps negligent in the long run. If you give the players EXACTLY what they want (+12 warsoul weapons with r9 armor), then what is there left? The in-game economy will die since no one sees a need to farm, people will get bored and quit. "The journey IS the destination," but one can't expect the players to keep this in mind. Why? Because if you stick such a great opportunity in front of us, we'll ALL go for it, because we don't want to fall behind power-wise.
Therefore, it should be expected that the company takes the responsibility a parent takes with a child: you tell the child that although he might like it if you bought him that new video game and you too might enjoy making him happy, it might not be the best thing for the child's future if he gets everything he wants. If the child ends up with a bad future, that's not exactly great for the parent, either. Here though, no, they've just handed us everything, which begs the question, what happens now? This sale doesn't seem well thought-out at all; it's fine to want to make money as they ARE a company, but this sale is so stuck in the here-and-now that it seems as though they could actually be LOSING profit in the long run. Maybe they've got a card up their sleeves with the new expansion, who knows, but right now it sure seems like they made a mistake.
I'd MUCH rather that people complained about the negative effects that this sale could have on PWI and not resort to such petty **** like "omg he contradicted himself, WAT A LOSERRRRR~~~" Wasn't there a thread made when frankie posted a response that was dissing the fact that it took him a full day to make a statement?
