R8/R9 I don't understand

Okay first off i don't understand how this really messes things up more than they already are, I actually see it making people play their classes the way they were ment to be played instead of all messed up.

By this i mean i have looked at as much information as i can find on the R8 and R9 gear and from what i have seen it does not afford the "5.0aps" that the other gear gives. Yes it has higher attack and defense lvls but it takes them back to a normal APS. Since you can't get different pieces of the armor you have to get what is made for your class alot of the different builds can't even use the armor (i.e. HA Veno since thier default armor type is arcane that is what type of rank armor they get).

The other thing is for R9 i just don't see the use of the expense in getting the equipment. For example (if my math is correct on this) the ring takes 32 tokens and each token takes 9,999 chips, and 3 of the medals.
So from this i get....
9,999 chips = 399.96 packs of chips per token
32 tokens = 12798.72 (so 12799 in reality) packs
so at $0.20 a pack = $2,559.80 for just the chips
and then $75 for the medals
giving a total of $2,634.80 for the ring not counting the approximate $108.00 for the rep.

I have no need or wish to spend that kind of money for pixels i am just sorry and from i understand the same expense or more is needed for each piece of the equipment. If some people have that kind of money to spend on the game then that is fine i don't and don't have a problem with those that do.

One final thought all this stuff is non transferable and a new expansion and new race is coming so they won't have any of this to use when everyone re-rolls a new char once they come out. So i don't see why everyone is in such an uproar over this if you got the money and want it fine if not fine come on people it is JUST A GAME.

    you seem to be completly missing the point and totaly blind to whats happening, rank8 and 9 being in the cash shop, for such an insanely cheap price has driven gold prices up to 1mill+, it was also bad enough that people were cash shopign there way to there perfect gear, now they have the strongiest gear available to them for an insanely cheap price, people will be equiping certain peices of rank gear for the extra stats, but they will still keep there -int equipments on so they get the best of both.

    i dont no how u managed to miss all of this out.

    Rank 8 Archer Chest Gives -.1 Interval. And Giving Everyone Endgame Gear In A Cash Shop Has Killed Any Game I've Seen It In.

    I can see R8 being cheap $72.00 and you have it but R9 cheap no way is 2.5K a piece cheap. but that is me i am a simple person and don't need expensive items. Now as for super gear it helps the casual player be more than casual i agree but that in itself is not a bad thing. As for the gold prices they been terrible anyway and once everyone has the stuff it will fall already has fallen from max of 2.3m right after patch to about 1.2m on HT as of yesterday. Once again the game seems to be run from inside by the "greedy" people if no one buys it for that price then they have to sell lower. But everyone "has to have it now" so they got the fish right where they want them.

    Well congrats on that then but that don't say help a BM, or a sin, or cleric as the TT99 stuff does make it where anyone can become 5.0.

    Sir the rank armor pictures i have looked at only do the original classes and i missed the -1 on archer armor i admit my mistake there but i don't see it on others so if you have some links for research that are say in English post them i will retract any bad information but what i have found does not show this for every class.

    Excellent post Val, and good perspective on our current situation.

    I'm still going towards my goal of getting to 100, getting my mold gear on, and continuing to troll 5.0s by casting red bubble in instances. I saw some of the bonuses on the rank 8 cleric armor and Cape of Underworld Slayer imo still has better stats, if I wanted channeling so bad I could be ghetto and just get OHT ornaments with -6% channeling. b:victory

    My frustration is, this is just another opportunity for everyone to conform to one standard, such as rank 8. I'm honestly afraid of having the community in-game giving a standard req. for entering an instance. i.e., World Chats saying "LFM BH3-3 must have at least rank 8 gear" We are already having that problem with discriminating against people who are 5.0...we are essentially making a non-existent gear score system and it's wrong.

    I would love to one day go pk people, and I still think it's possible if people power-lvl themselves to just being a rank8/9 noob...I should take advantage of that >_>

    I will end this post by just saying that if I didn't go out of my way to look like an odd-ball cleric with weirdo gear, then I haven't finished my playing experience ;)

    All true, and I like you was quite pissed off yesterday. But really... look at this in the long-term. What does it matter? Who cares if people have R8 gear all over the place?

    Really the only difference is that people will have bought their way to power... and while that IS extremely pathetic and sad, it doesn't affect me, and it shouldn't affect you either. The only difference is if you PK regularly, but let's face it: PK was effectively dead long before this.

    In the end, R8 is just going to end up being a marker of those who took the quick path to power instead of actually playing the game. That doesn't mean you have to do it. Hell, that makes me appreciate my "fail gear" all the more. :P

    9999 chips per token. 25 tokens per pack.
    so 9999 / 25 = 399.96 packs need per token so say 400
    $0.20 per pack of 25.
    so $0.20 * 400 = $80.00 per token
    32 tokens needed for ring.
    so 32 * $80.00 = $2560.00 for tokens
    badges = $25.00 each. 3 needed for ring.
    so 3 * $25.00 = $75.00
    $2560.00 + $75.00 = $2635.00 for the ring

    And from what i read more tokens and badges are needed for the other pieces so how is it full set for under $2000 explain your self.

    Mysterious Chips are 25 packs of 15 for 20 silver.

    So for 1 gold, you get 1875 chips.

    Rep for Rank 9 = 108 gold
    5.4 gold per token x 32 tokens = 172 gold
    3 medals = 75

    $275 for just the ring.

    here is where ur math is wrong

    26.8 so 27 x .2= 5.4 dollars per token
    now 5.4 dollars x 32 = about 173 rounded up
    so as u can see the total for 32 tokes is actually 173 dollars

    lol, your numbers are a little more accurate. I just gave an approximation. If you're going for the full set I think it rounds down to 5.2 gold per token because of what you would have left over.

    Sir thank you I was going from the description in the AH didn't see that it was 25 packs of 15 tokens i stand corrected but at least my math was right before lol oh well still do not see a need to spend $250.00 or more i hear some take more tokens and badges per piece of R( equipment.

    For the love of god people it only pixels when you turn the power off it goes away and what do you have for you money then, nothing but a blank screen.

    It's actually quite affordable considering how much other in-game items still cost. If you want a scroll of tome, you're looking at $300+ with <1m gold.

    I agree though. This game is dead. It's not worth spending a cent on. I'll be merchanting my Rank 9 just to stay competitive in TW.

    do you even know what atack lv does ;x

    atack lv increases your damage.. by like 1% each one.. (Approximately)

    Having over 50-80 atack lv.. would almost double your damage as rank9..

    Now imagine a nuke class that has that much of atack lv.. It will just one shot people left n right.

    If you ever been in a TW against Nirvana weapons +12 << It be worst than that

    My whole thing with this is that they're making it way too easy to obtain. A full r9 costs about 1550ish gold and it's way more powerful than warsoul. 1550 for the best gear this game has to offer? That's dirt cheap! I can afford it easily as well as many many other merchants in Sanc. That kind of took the fun out of things for me. There's no goal in this game for me. Not to mention some of my best gaming buddies leaving to another game. It's depressing to see.

    BTW: I've been looking at PW stock prices. All I can say is.. damnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn~!

    rank8 is in the CS for a cheap price. rank9 however is still insanely expensive. if u think its cheap then u must be one rich son of a *****.

    just to strengthen what this dude is trying to say, a sage sin can get close to 300 atk lvls with all the atk lvl increasing gear available ingame with rank 9.

    does no one realize that the mystery chips are FREE and the R9 gear is all lvl101. Not one person lvl100-105 has to buy a single chip considering we're most likely to get 50 for a bh1 and since you can't wear the gear until 101 you should have more than enough mysty chips for it by the time you go from 100 to 101. Think off all that gold you just saved
