Newbie to game and venos

just started a veno and a few questions have popped up can someone help as beginner guides seem to not have info im after.
1 is there anyway to summon pet without going to town?
2 why does pet disapear is it hunger related or they just get bored?

both questions revolvce around me being out questing nd pet vanishing then not being able to find a way to bring him back. finding how to summon to begin with wasn't excatly obvious

    I wouldn't even know why summoning in town would be any different.

    Just drag the pet icon from the pet window to a shortcut bar, or (in the pet window) click the button that says "call".

    Don't know either, I never let my pet go hungry in the first place. Keeping him fed all the time (pop a water whenever the icon turns green, unsummon when you don't need him for a while) will slowly increase its loyality which will make him more effective.

    Other than that, pets die when they run out of hitpoints. And I seem to remember that I had pets auto-unsummon when entering dungeons, but I also remember arriving with it...

    Oh... and ground pets unsummon when you go swimming or flying. Same for water pets, they unsummon when you go back to land or when you start flying. Flying pets will unsummon when you dive in the water.

    thanks for reply, like i said really new and no idea how i would access pet window so way i was doing it was going to hatchery guy then click one of the options which then gave me a call option. seems overly complicated i know which why i figured had to be easier way

    Pressing P will open the pet window wherever you are.

    There are some areas (typically mountainsides and some city entrances) where you can't summon a ground pet, and they will auto-unsummon if you are in them.

    Selecting your avatar gives you the name of your in-game character, and lets people see what level you are.
