hey,

I know what agro does but the question is how to prevent that you steal agro from a barb if you are in squad and doing BH or FB's? I play many dif chars, but my main is veno and cleric.And they are not that high lv. I stil need lots of practice, but I think its importent if you are usefull in your squad and doing a good job. b:shyb:question

    Well a Barb has to have aggro in the first place. If your barb knows what he's doing, you should notice him using the Flesh Ream skill on all the mobs in a group. You could tell because his tiger will shake it's head side to side. If you start healing the barb before he's grabbed aggro and he's within range of the mob, you will get the aggro instead.

    When the barb uses Roar, you will see him pause and lift his head and make a roaring noise. But, this is not fool-proof. If you attack a mob that is giving the barb aggro only because of Roar, it's actually not that hard to steal aggro from that mob. Your best bet is to only attack what the barb is attacking after he has got aggro from them. When I'm tanking a mob I'll will usually open with Roar then Flesh Ream each mob asap. I have to keep an eye on them even after that. If a mob starts going for the DDs or cleric, I have to go aggro it again or risk people dying.

    I've heard of people with DD characters (sins, wizzies, bm) who will take off some of their gear to reduce their damage if they're worried they might steal aggro from the barb. I've seen them pause between attacks so they don't stack too much damage and out-aggro the barb.

    A barb who's in a party with powerful DD might have to spam Flesh Ream to keep the aggro on him. Usually when another player steals the aggro, they can end up dying in 1 -3 hits from the boss. So keeping aggro is part of the tank's job.

    I did knowtice that some of them If I do bh29, dont realy know how to behave in a squad. They just begin fighting without thinking. thats why as a smal cleric I always play safe. I feel safer with a higher lv or an extra higher lv cleric. And look how she-or he does.

    for cleric, the easiest way to play safe is;

    DO NOT heal anyone unless they hit the mob/boss at least once.

    low level people who dont know about cleric skills will usually do this--> walk in range of mob and when mob starts to go after them they will run away without hitting the mob and start screaming "cleric heal me!" DO NOT heal them until they hit the mob. Or the mob will come for you and cleric is probably the squishiest one in the squad. also if they die you can res them, no one to res you if you die.

    another thing about stealing aggro is that damage and effect stacks. this is important if you re gonna deal damage or if you re playing a veno. clerics have higher damage than barbs by far, even tho they have aggro skills.

    and about veno, learn how much damage your pet does. if you re lv 40 veno and just acuired a pet which is lower level than you, you can steal aggro from your own pet. Pets have different damage rates. For example you ll have to be careful to not steal aggro from a shaodu cub. if you re not taking breaks between dd, you ll always steal aggro from shaodu cub even if the pet is your level. But glacial walker or petite sawfly has high damage, you can still steal aggro from them but you dont have to worry too much and you can dd as much as you want if you have one of those pets. So learn about pets and their lvls.

    Those were not really your questions i realise but things i learned by dying a lot of times. So there...b:bye

    thats good advice, I have a glacial walker and try to keep the lvl as close as mine, had a snowhare before, it toke the mob more often from me then any other pet did. But they are not strong enough at time. But the glacial walker is a great pet for meb:pleased

    It's always smart to buy a few Rez scrolls from the Merchant and carry them with you. That way if your Cleric does die, you can bring it back and rez the rest of the party. Rez scrolls have a very long cooldown so it usually only helps once per instance.
