Weird helpful clerics

It's probably a stupid question, but I'll ask it anyway.
I've noticed that when I'm fighting monsters for quests, some clerics come from nowhere, buff me and disappear. For the first time I thought it's because they want me to help them, but they always go away after buffing.
Why are they doing that?

    Maybe they like to be helpful without intruding? If I'm flying somewhere (on my cleric) and I see people killing mobs on the way I'll usually buff them lol

    some folks just like to be helpful that way. similar to how i'll often throw bramble guard on melee chars i see questing alone if they don't have it already. just a way to be social in-game, even to people you don't necessarily know; when it happens to me, i try to say thanks for it in white chat.

    I know on my cleric I just randomly through buffs around on peopl for no reason. Same for my veno, and if I feel like it I squad basically everybody in range and give them a BM buff.

    I've also used BP on my sin before, but i was bored on that day and PK wasn't too active.

    when i see sins / Bm / barbs or archers around i always use bramble (lvl 10) on them.
    Same for cleric , i usually try to buff other people , especially the squishy classes , well i dont use Spirit's gift on a BM , but guardian seal and magic shell are buffs i cast ASAP.

    we understand the difficulty for some people to kill certain things , cause we had the same experience before

    yes they get chi from buffing but they can get the same chi and waste the same amount of mana by buffing themselves. so its not for chi.

    its just to be helpful. when im flying through area and see some1 with no buffs and grinding/questing i buff them and when im bored i fly around and buff every1b:pleased

    Not just clerics, anyone does it. maybe not as much ... but they do it

    Had a 90+ barb even ASK me in whisper if he could buff me when i was on my archer.
    after he did wished me happy gaming and left squad.

    those are dangerous psychopaths, they buff you to let your guard down and then will cut your throat, when you look the other way

    Yeah, its 5 chi per normal buff, but if we wanted to gain chi that way we would stand there and buff ourselves.

    the only time it can be annoying is when they buff you and overwrite the apothocaries you just spent half an hour farming for ;)

    good clerics check your buffs first before randomly overwriting (or at least ask)

    I also like buffing ppl ^^ though on my veno I usually ask first if the person wants a bramble :P I've had other veno's give me a bramble when I'm questing/in dungeon. I know how annoying I find it so I usually ask ^^"

    When I'm on my cleric I also like going around buffing people :P though I'm not high lvld yet xD so I only buff people of my own lvl and ofc watch if people have apoth items on xD

    anyway, I gues it's just people being nice :P

    BTW, i just remembered something. I was grinding in hell yesterday when a barb came and invited me to party. I though that he might need the mobs for a quest or something and accepted. He buffed me, left squad and went away. I was there like 1 minute standing around completely astonished.

    I always buff people on my Cleric, if they don't have the buffs already. I'll heal them too if they are around 50-60% HP. :P It's just being helpful and may make someone's day a little bit better.

    Sometimes clerics just buffs people so while you're enjoying that warm afterglow of having buffs, you won't notice us flying away with your wallet.b:laugh

    We do it out of kindness.

    I'm more likely to buff random people,
    as opposed to the people that are bombarding me with "buff me" spam.

    Well.. I play a PVP serverr... So I usually throw around tempest & plume shot instead of buffs. b:pleasedb:victory.

    But when I play my veno, I usually throw bramble at a cleric to get buffs in return.

    They wanna be helpful/nice so they might give a few heals and buff random players. They leave after because they dont wanna hang around, they dont wanna party with you or do that specific quest, they dont wanna intrude or they just have something better to do etc. Its annoying if you buff/heal someone that seems to struggle and they as a result start spamming party, friend, guild invites and whispers.

    Psychics, wizards and venos do that to, they cast FrostBlade/Reflect etc on random people all the time. Its not really weird that players wanna share their buffs O_O

    I have a cleric named Flutter (FIutter) and I made her specifically to go around and buff heal small ones (level 50+ I quest on her when I am bored).

    On the weekends you might see her in her cute pink ballet dress out west healing/buffing the small blue names and helping them with those quests (in party) or often I head to the mine to do same or the tomb (outside of).

    You know, I try to give back to the game as many of us do. We know the frustration of fighting mobs solo, and dying over and over.

    Usually, I invite them to party, see another, invite them, introduce them, FL them, and talk about the benefits of joining a legion, and teaming up to quest, or answer questions they have about the game or classes.

    To be fair, many other classes have partied my EP to buff her also...
