New post about random distribution

I accepted an invite for a random distribution squad for a BH run. While in the dungeon I notice only two members are getting all item drops so I check the sheet and it says random distribution. Just about that time another party member who isn't getting any drops either asks "Isn't this set to random?" One of the guys getting the loot says "No. Why do you think I'm going so fast?" The first guy then leaves squad and we start whispering. I learn the squad leader can change distribution without it being reflected on the squad sheets of the other party members. There was a slight language barrier so I would appreciate it if someone can confirm and/or explain this incident. Tnx.

    After the squad has been made it is impossible to change the distribution settings, it also doesn't properly reflect it in the squad window (t), read the invite message carefully to make sure you are getting into a Random or Free squad before you accept it...

    Also Random likes to be evil at times and not give anyone but a certain person items...

    Like in a wraithgate run I did ages ago the bm in squad got calamities, tc cape and a demon's heart ring... all back when that was easily 15-20 mil...

    Be careful when you accept squad invites, & check if it's Free or Random. The leader would have to remake the squad again to change the setting.

    You cant change it from random to individual unless you remake the entire party.

    However the party-leader could have put the settings to individual drops before he started invited you guys and no one would notice a thing until someone picks up all the drops lol. You cant see what the distribution is set on unless you're party-leader :( Maybe he was questing with some lazy person and didn't want the leech to get the loot, than forgot to switch back.

    I guess it makes BHs a bit more exiting if drops are on individual though. Everyone zerg the drops instead of healing, tanking, DDing b:chuckle

    Random drops kinda works the same anyways. Its never fairly distributed among 6 people in a party. For some reason random makes the tank + 1 more get everything that drops.

    Thanks for your replies. Being a veno, I always check distri before I accept invite as I do not join free distri squads. I thought it was unchangeable after squad was made but leader said it wasn't random distribution. Maybe he was just being sarcastic or something because of the good luck 2 of 6 members were having. They really were the only ones getting item drops. I watched very carefully after he said it was not random but my sheet said it was. Guess the other 4 of us were just all having bad luck right then. I understand random and the possibility of not getting much or anything sometimes and have no problem with that. I've had my turn getting the lion's share. This run just seems weird. There was no shortage of drops (maybe like 30 and we didn't even get to boss)and not one other squadmate got a single thing but these two guys. I know random can result in some unusual things occurring. I guess it just stands out when it's really bizarre like that.

    When you say individual do you mean free or is there a third distribution method I haven't noticed? Like one where you can say specifically who gets drops? You say no one would notice until someone picks up. Meaning it isn't reflected in the invitation?
