I wasn't able to find this discussion after searching for it.
I love playing a tank, but sometimes I just want to kick some butt. I'm considering a melee DD alt.
What are the pros and cons of going with Sin or BM for some fun destruction? I'm really not planning on getting to endgame with this character.

BMs are decent for several mobs at once, the trouble is, their damage is quite low until 85+.
sins on the other hand, are a consistently high DD, on the downside, they're VERY VERY squishy.

I'd suggest you roll a BM if you are used to tanking- if you save your Barb's gear you can just transfer it to your new toon, and you can make a "tank BM"- using your extra stat points for VIT. Sins are great, but unless you invest in a lot of +vit gear and citrines, you're going to be very squishy. I have 3.1k HP, unbuffed. That is with 40 base VIT and roughly 40 more from gear, as well as having every socket filled with average or flawless Citrines. I'd recommend putting Second Wind and Tangling Mire on your genie as well, regardless of which you choose.

Thanks. I think I will go BM. Their ability to use heavy armor and use many different kinds of weapons seems more fun.
