Wanting some advice on demon/sage

Ok.....So my first thought was that I liked reduced channeling both on spark (demon) and plume shot.....But does it make a difference because the skill description seems abit off. It says both channel and recovery 1.2 seconds? Is that combined? cause right now its 1.5/1.0 so not really much of an improvement and even slower with the second number.

Also with this skill am I gonna feel PEW PEW!!! or just ehhhh, is it faster? Besides that if I go one way or the other am I gonna find more skill books? My first toon was an archer and I went sage (I know boo and hiss!!) I went sage because I wanted a certain skill, winged blessing I think its called.....Problem is its NEVER available.

I have read all the skills I guess I am curious, which ones can I even get realistically and I would like some feedback from sage and demon clerics

plume shot lvl 10 - 1.5/1.0
plume shot sage - 1.5/1.5
plume shot demon - 1.2/1.2

i dont have demon plume shot so i couldnt tell you how awesome i feel it is- but i hear its nice and spammable

since arch is a relatively new server you might not find a lot of skills in general- you could check Auction House on a regular basis to get a feel for how flow works... usually people tend to choose demon these days so you might not find a lot of sage cleric books
on older servers it is a bit balanced but you dont have to buy your skills- you can do things like delta and get Old Book Pages to make skills books, do Cube of Fate to get Pages of Fate and make skill books, etc.

if you still are having trouble picking between sage and demon i recommend using the search tool in the cleric section of forums and finding the numerous threads on opinions.

Yes, there is a noticeable difference between level 10 plume shot and demon in terms of speed. There's also a very noticeable difference in damage between level 10 plume shot and the sage version.

In terms of speed though, that channeling difference is bridged quite easily by sage magic shell which is a spammable buff for 10 seconds of -20% channeling. When I was sage, I used it quite a bit.

If you'd be making your decision based on plume shot, go sage. But likely it's based on a lot more skills. I'd make a checklist then figure out which bonuses you like more. Whichever has more checks, pick that one.

I liked sage quite a bit, and I also liked demon quite a bit. Played both, eventually switching from celestial sage to celestial demon mostly out of preference for the constant sparks for spark solo healing w/channeling bonus, and for the ability to give yourself and others chi -- an invaluable tool in certain cases when you're missing a veno, or to compliment a veno.

I can't make a decision......I like the looks of demon skills.

DEMON
Spark = faster casting which will build chi faster
plume shot faster = plus above should be pretty fast
spirits gift = another 150% damage....

SAGE
Seals= reduced defense for 25 seconds instead of random
plume shot = is 800 points more a lot?
metal mastery = I like 25% more over 2 pts of critical cause its low anyways.

Still looking for more feedback:) I am pure so not sure if stronger heals is that important...but one could say then my damage is good too:) ERRRRR this is made worse cause I chose against advice on archer:)

You will get plume shot and great cyclone easily, since they are fb89 drop (Pureheart blessing is also fb89 drop but its waste of coins to learn it) Other skills you can get with token (450 for each try), drops in fb99 (10% chance from last boss) or old book pages/pages of fate. Keep in mind that old book pages and pages of fate have a chance to get you books that tokens cant. In cleric's case its Razor's Feathers and Celestial Guardian Seal from old book pages and Tempest from pages of fate.

Sage IH makes a huge difference, its 15% more healing power, its like you get 50% more magic attack(in comparision with lvl10 IH) or almost 30% more magic attack (in comparision with demon IH)
One thing that you should keep in mind is wrong description of demon phy and mag def buffs. They dont give chi to caster and target but only to target. Unless it got changed since i stopped playing demon cleric. (Its something that really annoyed me when i learned that skill)

45% (Sage) vs. 30% (Level 10). Difference? 15%. Yay, now you can read and do math.

sage IH equation supposed to be (1200 + 0.35 * BMA) *1.1 not 1200 + 0.45 * BMA

Two things.

1) He never compared his magic attack to yours. He didn't factor gear/weapon. He factored only the numbers in each ironheart. This comparison to him is your own e-peen equation that you should solve on your own as I'm not gonna bother.

2) If he were somehow wrong about the percentage magic attack (he was pretty vague), you corrected him on the only part he was right on, instead of the only part he could actually be wrong on (I don't know, I'm too lazy to do math on that part -- I only know that it is in fact a huge difference, having my cleric sage and demon). 15% is right, because he compared it to level 10. The 10% would be a comparison to demon, which he didn't do, which you obviously didn't read and do math properly. Of course, it might not be as much of an issue to correct if you didn't have a penchant for being a nitpicky d.bag to posters.

difference between sage ih vs 10lvl is 35-40%
and always 10% sage vs demon

guy wrote 15% .. in my understanding 40% and 15% is quite big difference, so i felt like correcting him

guy continue and compare his gain in mag attack using wrong equations and -which is worse- he didnt even bother to post his stats, so anyone interested could just wonder wtf he had in mind
