Keep scorpion

Hi
I am a lvl 7 veno and i have a varicose scorpion and i am planning on getting a crystall magmite. But i dont know if i should keep the scorpion untill i get the magmite or get a new pet until then? any help would be thankfull

    Keep both.

    Varicose Scorpion is not a tank pet. It's a DD pet. Magmite is a tank pet.

    Hi there dragonmorph !

    When i got my glacial at around lvl 21 (can get it earlier though) i threw away my scorpion... If i can advise you something, DONT DO THAT.
    Cause when i reached lvl 80 i missed having a good DD pet. I mean, I still had my Glacial Walker for tanking, and a Sawfly for in the air and a Froggy as mag tank and cause i love it :p But i missed a good DD pet.
    After looking up in all these forums I read that the Scorps are one of the best DD pets, most Damage Per Second. There is another one good for DDing (besides the niox ofcourse but that birdy is so expensive lol) and he's called a Dark Wanderer. Looks like a black horse with someone on it.

    I personnally choose the Scorpion again, cause i like using skills. If you dont use skills, just autoattack the Wanderer will be faster. If you do use skills the scorpion does more damage per second.

    thanks for the advice, but i meant if i should get another pet than the scorpion until i get glacial or magmite?

    I think it depends on your play style. Most venos appear too lazy to amp, so most will be too lazy to unsummon / summon a Scorpion for the rare times it can be slightly useful. To add to this, it appears that a Dark Wanderer would have more use because of it's better survivability. At 101, I can say there really isn't much use if any for such pets. They don't appear worth the time invested in leveling them or the coin for their skills. Also at that level, most will grow weary of keeping them leveled.

    During the first 30 levels, I've been able to keep multiple pets at maximum level without a lot of extra work. I just switch to a different pet when the current pet stops gaining experience because it is the same level as my character.

    So there is nothing wrong with taming a few other pets and enjoying them and getting a feel for their different skills. It is also a good thing to try different pets so you can determine your playing style -- do you like pets with lots of skills that you have to keep activiating? Or you like using fewer skills so you have less clicking to do?

    For example, I found that I like bash + flesh ream on my DD pet more than I like bash + elemental bash because I have to do less button pushing since flesh has a slower cool down.

    I still have my scorpion and loved using him as I levelled. Although as tweakz said, don't expect to use him in 100+ instances. Other than that, he's still handy to be able to call him out.

    Stats-wise, the scorpion and the DW are the best DD pets. Some people get a different pet instead of those for a number of reasons (skills it has upon tame, closer to their level, more appealing skin, etc).

    In my experience, the important thing is to pick a couple of pets you like using and that work well for you, and stick with them. (The exception being water pets.) Although at higher levels, when keeping your pets caught up gets harder, you'll have to prioitize which pets to keep at your level.

    If you are going between the magmite and the glacial walker. Go with the GW he has slightly better stats which can actually mean quite a bit later on. http://i857.photobucket.com/albums/ab135/csk2k9/pet.jpg?t=1261465932

    His stats are pretty close but the HP is a huge thing because it means you have 200 more HP that you can count on and you don't have to heal quite as often. I go with the GW.

    (Vol Mag and Crys Mag are the same I do believe)

    Have you been feeding your pet? Get your scorpion's loyalty up to 501 or higher and it will level faster than you, even at 121-500 loyalty it will level fairly fast.
