Blue Light?

I was heading south toward Swamp of the Wraiths on my mount when I found a blue light. At first I thought it was a portal, so I was reluctant to run through it. However, unable to get an answer from my guild, I eventually decided to use the "portal". All the light did was dramatically reduce my movement speed for a couple seconds, then jump to a different location. After I stood near it for a bit, I auto-targeted it (much like how you auto-target pursuing mobs). Well anyway, I took a few screenshots of it.

So my question is: "What is this blue light?" I'm under the suspicion that it's a mob that the developers forgot to take out the game completely. What do you think?

    Just a guess : prob part of the monthly race event that was never implemented. these blue light are everywhere in the snake island race stuff that happens twice a day, and they do just that: slow u down and chase u for a few metters.

    just like the 'boxes' that show up sometimes in the main cities teleports, its said those are also part of the monthly race event.

    thats a light from the races it chaces and stubs ppl who eneter the race

    That you see is a bug.

    That light is suppose to be at the Snake Idle Dungeon Race area, but because of one the previous patches that blue ball appeared there. b:chuckle

    In another thread a couple weeks ago it was stated that this blue light is part of the new races in a way.
