Why won't the game accept my gaming mouse controls?

I enjoy playing these games with my Logitech gaming mouse, and I think it would make flying a whole lot easier in this game, but for some reason the game does not accept my programmed mouse button/key strokes. I have to hold down the "W" key while steering with the right mouse button and that's just awkward. I'm trying to program the "W" keystroke onto my mouse, but the game isn't recognizing it. Is there something in game settings I'm missing or is it not possible to use a universal, multi-button mouse for this game?

I'm not sure why you need to hold down the "W" key while steering to fly. In general, autopathing will take care of the direction you're flying. If you are trying to fly without a destination, simply left click somewhere in the distance (sky) of the general direction you want to go, then right click and drag anywhere on the screen for you to change your view/angles. From there on you can change your direction at any time with another click off in the distance.

You can also fly around by left clicking around on the minimap, as well as alt+left clicking on the larger map (press M).

    Hope this helps!

Thank you. Yes, I was referring mostly to flying without a destination and the click to move does work, its just not as convenient as pressing left & right mouse buttons together to move and steer. Just a different way of moving that I'm used to from other games, but I guess that answers my question in that, no, the game does not support universal/multi button mice.

Technically, no the game does not.
Can you do it? sure, you just have to create a custom profile for your mouse.

I've configured it to work on my PC with my PS3 controller, takes a bit of work editing all the buttons/sticks, but perfectly doable. Only took me like 15 minutes to get it set up.
Take the time to look for your answer before you post like an idiot.
