Im not trying to be rude or anything, but why is it that every time ive ever tried to ask a gm to pm me me via WC, everybody tells me im wasting my time? aside from the fact that i was wasting my time, cause no gm ever pmed me. and i understand the whole 'if we responded to every blah blah blah' but still. im sorry to say, but it feels like the gms dont care, and that everybodies WC shouts are going by the wayside. if and when any of you gms read and respond to this, please realize im not trying to be a jerk, if there is a better way (without sifting through thousands of forum threads) to get a hold of a gm, please tell me. thank you.
This will make you laugh!
1) Open Google Maps (directions).
2) Type China as your starting point (A).
3) Type Taiwan as your destination (B).

Highly doubt someone is sitting there watching WC spam 24/7...
And in the time you take to type a WC you could log a ticket or click that GM button in the options

its not that hard to submit a ticket. GMs have said long time ago that no1 reads world chat. imagine how many more people they would have to pay to have some1 sit online 24/7 and read world chat on every server. i see ppl crying in world chat for gms like once every 2-3 days, it

actually, it takes more time to submit a ticket. and you arent always able to get a straight answer outta the ticket solution.

i have submitted many a ticket, not always got a usable response. and clearly people do actually read word chat, just not the gm's. and if the gms dont read the world chat, then whats the purpose of having gm's?

Because if they did, you'd get conversations like this:

Player123: Need GM to PM asap!
    GM: Yes?
    Player123: OMGOMGOMGOMG U RESPONDED!!!11
GM: So you don't have any problems that could need GMs to be solved? Or glitch reports?
    Player123: OMGOMGOMGOMG GIEB WRSL! PLZPLZPLZPLZPLZPLZ?!
    GM: I can't do that.

Lets see.. every time i see frankie online on HT he (or she... female char >,>) is surrounded by over 20 players trying to speak with him/her.

However, think about it, if they reply to someone, they'd need to reply to 5... 20... 50, 200, 1000, 5000, 100.000 players that would ask things like "hi gm, can i have free gold?" - no - "QQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQ b:cry *rage quits*" and stuff like that :]

That is why, they removed the ingame GM help button, due to people using it for dumb things, now you gotta send a ticket in order to get a solution, takes longer, but it is less stressing than being ingame with all those brown nosers around.

There are a few things to consider here:

    1) If/When GMs are online, they are likely doing something specific, like dealing with someone else's problem or investigating a game glitch or checking out a new feature. It is highly unlikely that they would even notice a WC cry of "can a GM PM me Plz" especially since WC messages only remain on the screen for a few seconds (even less when Duke Blacke is spamming system messages).

    2) GMs are only available during standard business hours in the Pacific Time Zone. They are not online on weekends or holidays or most evenings, and are not on in the daytime in other time zones.

    3) There is a ticket system and a GM chat system on the web site ... the chat one is hard to find, but it is there and I have used it. If you really need to talk to a GM, use the standard method that is available to everyone else. You might find that as you use the trouble shooter and/or ticket system, that your problem has already been addressed by someone else.

    4) Why are you requesting a GM PM you? Are you absolutely certain that your issue cannot be resolved by other players with experience in the game? I recall one player asking for a GM because she was legitimately stuck ... but because she was a female character, I was able to fly very close to her, and use Embrace to get her unstuck. It might be that there is a solution to your problem, and maybe some of those teles begging a GMs attention would be better served describing the problem. (Probably better still to just save the teles and use the ticket system ... just saying.)

    5) This is a free game, and with that comes an implied limitation of service. Unlike Pay to Play games, where you are paying for services and have a right to expect a GM response when you have a legitimate issue, Free to Play does not automatically convey that same level of expected service. It might sound rude, but compare a Fast Food outlet with a 5 star restaurant. The service is there in both cases, but one is far better than the other (usually) and is due to the fact that you are paying extra for it.

    6) (And I will end with this one) There is a standard problem with responding too quickly to requests from players, that being that the vast majority of the players who yell for a GM are doing so because they feel they have just been cheated or wronged in some way by another player. GMs are not your parents, or the police or even referees ... they are employees of PWI mandated to keep the GAME running smoothly. They are not civil servants obligated to settle every domestic dispute between players. For this reason, players are deliberately forced to deal with these kinds of issues in such a way as it does not consume vast amounts of GM time. The roadblocks are there for a reason, to force you to cool down while you talk to faction mates or sift through forum posts or fill out a ticket or read through the troubleshooter. And at the end of all that, if you are still in need of the specific services that only a GM can provide, then they will probably become available to you. But the myriad of people driven to talk to a GM because they are enraged over some trivia are likely to burn out long before they reach one. And that is probably a good thing.

    Good Luck!

i really only started this thread for other peoples edification. while i have attempted to contact a gm threw wc and got no answer from any of them, i felt this would be a thread for people to vent with. and like i said i understand the 'if we respond to blah blah blah' but really, what are they there for if not to help us out with a problem in-game?

both comprehensive and a good response. but sometimes (in my wanting to talk to a gm), its a legit topic. but you are certainly right on all your points.

    Thanks. *smile*

I believe I have had legit reasons to talk to GMs as well, and I used the in game chat system once (ages ago) and the web based chat system two or three times (not for a while though, so this might be down now) and I have submitted a number of tickets, all of which have been resolved to my satisfaction.

Ultimately the reason why GM chat is no longer availalbe is that it simply does not make good business sense. It might if there was a fine for frivolous use of the chat system, and players had to submit their credit card info to play, but that kind of a check/balance system is not in place here, so the players who abuse it basically ruin it for everyone else.

Still, if it is a legit topic, you will get a response to it either in game from other players, on the forums from players and maybe GMs or via the ticket system.

    Good Luck!

I have done the live chat with a GM a couple times and it was a simple fast process :) I think they have made finding it easier, its in support and clearly marked.

The ppl I have spoken with were polite and helpful. Try it :)

It has always bothered me the way some people rant and curse at GMs etc. They are living breathing human beings and deserve respect and to be spoken to in a civil polite manner - as all people do! You have concerns by all means voice them, but in a calm mature manner, it has been my experience you get better results this way :)

    Cheers!

You know I once had a GM right next to me. We was trying to talk to each other but nothing worked. I World chatted him to PM idk why he/she never PM'd me :\

She/He then started talking in common chat about the ticket telling everyone what was going on in north archo near pup.

Guess what? I never saw any of it. I had to PM a guild member to PM the GM to talk to him/her.

It's been stated before that GM's rarely watch world chat. If you need one, submit a ticket or use Live Chat.
