I think maybe if people were more willing to teach and take newbies into instances like RB/frost ect then more people would run them.

As it stands now, experienced players are adamant that they "havn't got the time/patience to deal with noobs" and newbies never run them because the only squads they can find are with experienced players who are ready to scream NOOB and kick them because it soon becomes apparant that they need to be taught how to run it properly.

It just an endless cycle that needs to start changing before it's just the same few people running the same old instances over and over again.

Well, PWI is quite different than it once was. There was a time when learning new instances was part of a normal thing in the game. Nowadays most players know the FB/BH instances, FF, and possibly Nirvana. Very few know Lunar, RB, Cube, etc. Very few players 90+ know what a "Zhen party" is, and very few players 100+ have skills maxed, or even a TT90 gear piece.

Meh, in all honesty I would love to see players 100+ that actually know their class, have some decent gear, and have played the game just like myself. Sadly, the game isn't tailored to knowledge and curiosity like it once was. It's alright though - I know what I'm doing, and I have friends that know what they are doing.

    Now you're exaggerating.

Getting to 100+ without TT90? I find that hard to believe, hell I hypered to 100 in FC and I had my full TT90 by the time I was 85

Not an exaggeration, sadly. If I wc for random peeps for Nirvana/3-2/3-3, I'm finding 100+ players with mold gear. I can't even count the number of players that run around 100+ in Nirvana with that mold 70 Dark Flash unsharded/refined. Wish I was joking. Did a run the other day w/ a cleric that had mold gear and FF wep unsharded/refined... Let's just say, if you see a cleric with that poor gear, prepare for multiple deaths and a horrible run.

I recently tanked 90% of Nirvana uncharmed w/ Wizzy heals and event pots because a random cleric came that spoke very little English and would pass one heal then constantly die. Didn't know their class at all. They died at least 25+ times on birdie boss.

Dude, lol.. I wish I was joking. Meh, welcome to the new Gen. of PWI I suppose.

That's the ideal attitude to have in most MMO's. Keyword being ideal. I agree it is more fun to play the game with a group friends just out questing or doing things together in general not rushing to the end but enjoying the journey there. I started playing this game in late 2008(this is an alt) and I remember groups of friends from old guilds that just came out and quested together and had fun together. This is an MMORPG so you have to role play or the game in my opinon just gets dry.

People rush to the end game because they think "Now the game get's really fun" or to have a competitive edge for PvP. However these thoughts usually end in dissapointment. First off PWI has an item mall that allows players to buy power. If you want to compete on an equal level with a cash shopper and have a real life good luck. Not to say cash shopping is a bad idea (got to work for the in game item some way cash or time put into farming). Also once your at end game it's over nothing is left to do, why would people want to rush to that state in a game?

A good articile about this can be found here from mmohut.com http://mmohut.com/editorials/mmorpgs-are-we-having-fun

Nope, I believe that; I ran into a 100+ player with a level 57 cape.

I played 3 characters to mid-end-game range. My first character, a wiz, has a pretty much empty quest log barring the Harpy Wraith quest (which is bugged) and a few bh's. I've experienced RB (both gamma and delta), Warsong, Lunar (before and after nerf), FC (before and after nerf), Nirvana, TT (before and after the ****-up), and even beat up on Harpy Wraith. I knew what "fishing" meant, and literally spent 8 hours grinding on them to hit level 89. I used maybe 5 oracles.

My new main has a longer quest log, but I did a lot of grinding with my psychic. I fished since I didn't do too many gammas or fc's on her at the beginning. This isn't to say that I've never did a gamma on Ivy; I did a few, and even worked in ways of how to incorporate both a psy and a sin in the same squad (we ended up failing at 5th stage because the BM forgot about the cracklings. Oops.). I've experienced all that my wizard did, albeit on a smaller scale. Like I never completed gamma (completed delta), never did any Warsongs beyond the bh needs, and TT 3-3 used to be nice for me until the ****-up.

My sin, a level 73, has never done a gamma (don't expect to get any either), went into an FC at the ripe level of 28 (gained 11 levels in there at that level), but haven't been back in since. Most of my levels were from grinding and the occasional BH. And the occasional quest if I feel like it, but her quest log is astronomical in comparison to Ivy's.

I've experienced quite a bit in the near two years of playing this game. I could have taken it slower on my fishies, but any slower and I would have been gone from the game already. I'm working at a pace which I'm happy with. I might speed my sin up a tad, but I still need to learn some stuff, including skills and the like.

Everyone has their pace and way of enjoying the game. It only becomes a problem when it's obvious that you don't know what to do in a TT (or HH for you LC folks) 1-1 at level 100.

I go through phases where I'm like "let's lvl like crazy!" but right now just trying out different things; helping friends, the occasional FC, and of course PKing.

I mean, the game has plenty to do for me if I try, whether it's working on lvling my neglected manufacturing skills; testing whether I can tank a lower lvl's boss; goofing off in WC; FC; etc.

I've even tried all the TTs, and was quite happy one day to test out how much I could solo.

I don't know who you are on HL, but you're welcome to ask me for anything, other than I may not be much help if it's higher lvl lol.
