Confused about switching weapon path

Hi,
my bm will have enough spirit to invest in next weapon path soon and I am really confused because people ask me why I don't use fists. (Its just my opinion but without high attack rate fists can't be compared to axes and even with high aps, axes are still not bad with sacrificial strike.)
I see many people around 60s and 70 with fists but I cant understand what are they good for at this level range. I use claw sometimes to regain sparks to use hf.
I play on a PvE server and I deny most of duels because Im a peaceful person b:laugh
So now my question is:
If I stay Axe bm only like Im till now, do I become useless in any instances on really high levels? b:surrender
I see even archers and barbs with claws or fists...
thanks to everybody who reads it and can give me a good advice how to continue skilling my toon so others will like to have me in squad b:thanks

the answer to your question is, yes. at end game instances no one will want you unless you're claw/fist and -interval.
but good choice on axe, it's the second most usefull of all the weapon paths. i really wish the other paths were better. i like the feel and idea of the pole and sword. but in practice they're quite useless for both a tank and a DD BM.

Even if your calamitys zerk, a normal tt70 fist would still outdamage axe.

Even if you are pure axe, then you can be useful in instaces. Heaven's Flame is skill that most squads need to finish the instance faster.
AP classes are a real butt pounding...

Not forgetting that carrying lower-level axes and using maxed HF every 30 seconds is better than pure axe.

Also, I'd say you won't be seen as useless till Nirvana or higher level TTs. Still, compared to fist/axe BM, you will always be the less wanted player if both of you have the same level of HF.

There's also RB, which you'll want axes for at very least unless you plan on never doing the chrono quest line for OHT maps and the gold chrono belt (need waves 4/5/7/8/last bosses) and the spiritual cultivation for the celestial fairy (need waves 8/9/last bosses).

In all honesty, the higher survivability in being able to go really high in vitality and do decent damage is what makes axes a better idea earlier on, then switching to fists later to better offset statting out vitality by refining/sharding higher. Of course, if someone has outstanding gear for lower levels like the Scroll of Tome or Cloudcharger cape that would help do fists earlier for the average player until all of the interval bonus gear kicks in.

Axe build is outstanding for AOE's and HF, fist for fast single target damage output as well as possibly canceling a mob's skills. Most BM's tend to choose this combination for those very reasons, and because neither swords nor poleblade does as good of a job in either category than the respective weapon trees. PWI basically allowed fist in particular to insanely tilt the skill tree heavily in favor of fists.

Pure axe builds (especially those not decked out in cash shop gear and/or refines) have their place, like when you can't find a barb in FF, or if you want a pure AOE BM for AOE instances, but most squads who target DPS will certainly pass on you which is why you need diversity.
