I've had PWI on computer since april and now I have problems. I have a serious problem with opening the element client and I've tried to reinstall the game TWICE now and each time it says I have a component missing PackDLL.dll. is there a way to get this to work manually or am I just screwed? my antivirus is sophos and Sophos says that the component is part of Mal/Gampass-B. What the heck does that mean and what do I do to get this to work

I haven't let sophos "clean up" the component that it "thinks" is malware.

Have you added an exception to sophos for that particular file? I suppose it all depends on how much you trust the internet, but supposedly sophos is notorious for false-positives. If you add an exception for sophos to ignore the file, perhaps it would work. I'm not an expert on sophos or PWI, but I suppose it might work.

sophos won't let me do that for that file how do I make an exception for the whole PWI file folder? how would I write pwi down in RUN format and then tell sophos to just have an exception to the entire file folder?

Try another antivirus? AVG has an excellent free version that doesn't conflict with PWI at all.

I disabled my antivirus and managed to create an exception for the program file folder that pertains to PWI so I'm gonna try to launch the game and update it right now and c what happens. wish me luck.

    AVG is good & free.

but compared to pay versions of norton & macafee

Running Avast & Malwarebytes is far better.

Avast will notice threats hours to days faster than AVG. Avast does report some false positives, but not nearly as much as Soph & I have never had an issue with it bothering PWI.

Opinions are like Azzholes & everybody has one especially with software prefs.
This is just my Op from exp with all known antivirus software, personally tested.

Anyway JellyToast is right though, add an exception with existing protection software.
personally I req unintalling Soph & installing Avast or AVG.
& regardless of protection get Malwarebytes cause it will & can remove threats that most protectors cannot remove.
