What PW seems to be losing, -Suggestion for new EP.

Hello,

As my guild mates know, I'm am possibly the most annoying whiner, moaner and groaner. I like to moan about everything.

Anyway, with that out of the way, I am to discuss the problems I am starting to have with PW, which hopefully the new EP will fix, or unfortunately make worse.

The thing I love most about this game is the theme. I love the oriental feel- something which Rising Tide did nothing to expand upon. Unless they make the new EP have a more oriental feel to it, it seems to me like PW is beginning to become just another MMO, which for me as current, it isn't. I only came back after my long break because I missed the feel, the awesome music, the nice scenery (While graphics aren't the best among games nowadays, they're acceptable..)

In another way, I love the tedious BH's,dodgy translations, west arch lag, that cool dude what rides a Nien beast, and everything else what make this game unique!

Can we keep it unique? You probably don't understand what I'm saying, but anyways, heh..

    They actually copied a lot of what they have from other games tbh... Then again I can't blame them as every other game company does that too

    How to fix everything? Have the PWE staff admit they ****ed up, that is step 1

    And as far as unique goes... well I don't see any other games using fish people as characters

    I actually kind of agree with you. While tideborn expansion is beautiful in itself it feels a little external from the main game.

    I actually really really love the chinese mythology theme of perfect world. I also love the music and map-monster-clothing-architechture-design. Also the game is really beautiful and unique looking compared to most medieval mmos out there.

    No.1 turn-off about forsaken world is that its "aimed at westerns" and how its once again a boring gregoromanic setting with castles and forests and dwarfs and..uhh can I say v-o-v :|

    If you want asian themed you should check out PWE's Jade Dynasty or Heroes of Three Kingdoms. Granted that does not help you if you really like PWI's class/genie system, but if you like the PWI gameplay then you would probably enjoy JD or HotK.

    If you take PWE's games as a whole (they are all f2p so I don't see why you wouldn't)

    Perfect World - Fantasy setting with a hint of asian themes.
    Jade Dynasty - heavy asian themed fantasy game (your classes are based on the mystical city that you decide to join!)
    Heroes of Three Kingdoms - historical chinese setting (everyone is human, classes are the weapons you decide to wield)
    Ether Saga Online - anime style fantasy
    Forsaken World - High Fantasy

    Each of there games has VERY similar gameplay and their own theme. I think PWI should keep in its fantasy setting with just a hint of the asian. If they start to lay it on too thick it just becomes jade dynasty.

    Well, personally I hope they're not gonna overhaul the entire map into something completely different either.

    I mean, think of all the glitches, lag and rubberbands the tideborn area has/had. We'd be seeing that all across the map then.

    Personally, I feel like the people of PWi needs to "expand" their teams to better fix "issues" that exist. However, as far as i can tell they are doing everything they can to get YOU to buy from the boutique. Perhaps they need the money to improve on the game? Perhaps they don't want to spend money on fixing issues that exist when they can make a new change to keep you buying stuff with real money??

    Here's an idea, stop playing PWi for just a few days, meet more/new people. Find out who has time for video games, have them play PWi. MAYBE they will buy stuff with real money for the game. And now PWi has that much more money to play with.

    OH let's not forget the "new game" they are working on so maybe their putting the money into making that game instead of PWi cause it's getting "old" and may not be of much more benifit.



    Seriously though, i'm just looking for a great game to entertain myself with. Bosses that look like bosses would be REALLY NICE. But i don't see that happening anytime soon. SO i'll be happy with the Boss that looks like the mob i just killed 100+ of that just has a souped up name and an elite status.

    when you look at it pwi is only a little over 2 years old they will have a hard time until they get on their feet but so far i think pwi is better than any other game there is out there on computer systems

    I really like pwi the way it was. Tideborn expansion seems to be at one side because it actually is outside....

    The new classes are exciting even when they look way too human like xD

    i just would like that OP gear and cash shop items would be easier to get in game... like if they could implement lunar system and FC drops for them to be like TT.... that would really make this challenging (because people would run FC not only for the exp but because of the gear they can get).... and players could have objectives.... cash shoppers will always be there to buy the stuff easier... and non cashshoppers could have the time and ways to get stuff to balance the game :3

    I hope 3-2 and 3-3 gets back to what it was before it was "fixed". And that TW salary gets back in coins not more mirages!!!

    Well considering how many MMOs I've played with an oriental background, this is just another mmo. The only thing that sets it apart is the character customization. I will say I'm happy it's not another mmo set in the 3 Kingdoms period. There's just way too many of them. Yes I'm aware PWE hosts one.

    I kinda missed it, so once in a blue moon, I actually liked and really enjoyed that mellow musics..

    I totally get what the author of this thread is trying to say. The oriental feel that makes it distinguishable from WoW was starting to disappear when the Tideborn patch came. I have to agree on this, as the graphics of this game satisfy my nostalgia for my younger days when I was actually in Korea (Korea and China has same type of landscape, mostly, and it was my younger days in Korea when my life was actually good), but the Tideborn parts kind of make me feel more like South East Asia (Mainly Singapore, or maybe not even that but more westernized), instead of the Chinese landscape that I'm used to.

    I kind of hope that the Genesis patch does further satisfy my nostalgia for my younger days.

    PLEASE STOP WITH THE DAMN PACKS~~!!
    Gold jumped from 100k-600k....... What made this game fun was the fact that everyone was equal. We all had the opportunity to play out this game to the fullest, but now with the packs all the Cash Shoppers are getting billions and the F2p players are becoming poor as dirt.

    b:laugh I know someone who didn't put any money into Zen, but instead used coins to buy out all of the gold in AH, and resold all of it for more than he bought it for. Fixing the gold price!

    And I can remember a time when gold was 900k. QQ.

    I hate the packs. The stupid spam is worse. If I had $1,000 to dump into Zen, I could spam the server for an hour, and nobody could stop it. Just an hour of Duke Blacke saying "Sarrafeline has acquired a Token of Best Luck!" Of course, that already happens on Sancturay, and not for just one hour, it's constant, Thievery seems to get a Best Luck once every 25 minutes or so (has probably gotten 100 Best Luck tokens so far). Sometimes, you cannot have a faction chat convo because it gets spammed out by System annoucements.

    Make Duke Blacke ignorable. Freaking make him World Chat for crying out loud. I don't give a flying **** if Thievery just got 72 Tokens of Best luck in the past 12 minutes, I don't want to see that message 72 times in 12 minutes (or 72 people get tokens in 24 hours, I don't want to see that message at all anymore). It is the most annoying thing ever. Gah. Rage rant over.

    Once all the free-to-play players quit playing because of the messed up economy the cash shop players will have no one to sell gold to and of course they wont farm their gear/coin and this game will fail worse (as in there will no longer be a PWI if this isn't fixed) b:bye

    I love PWI...when i get addicted to a game, i get totally immersed in it, it takes alot for me not to get bored with a game, like Final Fantasy, etc etc.

    PWI has kept me here for 18months+ and i may not be a cash shopper or a hyperstone addict, i love the game for the people, the drama, the QQ the quests and even the music.

    The TB Expantion...hasn't really amazed me, it's too far away (though this may change if more of the map is revealed)and too...colourful...to fit with the rest of the game lol.

    I dunno, i like the slight Asian hints in this game, i like the structure and level of commitment you must make to become something, but then, it's still a casual game you aren't forced by people/company to do anything, you just do what you want, if thats hypering your way to 100 in the shortest time possible, or just lvling slowly to 50 (LOL like me >.>) you get the choice.

    Hopefully the new expantion will tie everything together once more...hopefully.

    Regarding the oriental issue, capitalism is more of a western thing, which is why you might subconsciously hear a "chaching" sound, because synonymous with the beginning of the Rising Tide development/translation for this version, was the beginning of permanent anni packs, and thus the oriental theme changed to lord of the blings.
