Is it me or is anyone else annoyed by the red GM messages that people have gotten something? And the messages about the auctions?

I mean do we really need to know this?b:angry

At least the horn messages were originalb:sad

    Auction and bestlucks annoy me. The other stuff people win is rare neough for it to be something interesting to read. Unless it says Flixie next to it, in which case it generates hatred xP

    And as for the proper system messages about TW and stuff, alls cool there.

    No Horns were obnoxious and if someone spammed it would fill EVERY DAMN CHAT BOX. Seriously, in an instance trying to talk about what we planned to do and some nob sits there and spams through everything so fast noone can read it. They suck, glad theyre gone.

    Old complaint is old.

    Duke was originally muted, but he was then unmuted because hearing and seeing people win so many things so often encourages people to gamble themselves thinking they have better chances then they actually do. Duke was turned back on simply to help fuel pack sales because PWE knew they put the pack with the ****tiest possible drops in the boutique for an indefinite amount of time (Lucky Corals.)

    Auction is there for the same reason. "This thing ends in x minutes and we're trying to con you into thinking it's potentially cheaper then it actually is, buy it now!"

    Of course the auction does actually sometimes offer you good deals and people do manage to make a profit from it, but it doesn't make it any less annoying for the people who don't give a ****.

    The main factor is the red spam is there to encourage obsessive gamblers and people who don't stop and work out how much they're actually spending against how much something actually costs to charge zen, put gold on the game and buy their way through it. So it's not liable to disappear any time soon.

    I dont mind announcments about wraith events and stuff but that best luck **** is posted every few seconds and is in every chat. you cant get away from it... and very disrupting when your doing a bh and and its spamed when your trying to tell your squad something when killing a boss.

    We should have the option to at least filter it

    It's been discussed so many times on the forums that the topic itself is equally annoying as the Red Text that you call annoying.

    But yes, i do agree that there should be an option to at least switch it off. Especially with Squad Chat.

    It's understandable. And I understand how you feel about the red text. I don't blame you. Like Airyll stated, Duke was, at one point, completely muted. And pretty much everything else she said.

    You should've seen it on the 1st or 2nd Celestial Tiger Event. Announcements were enabled and once everyone got their rewards and opened them, it was literally a WALL of 50 people getting prizes all at once. I don't mind the Red Text so I found it very amusing.

    This is the one that I simply can't understand. The stuff they have for auction typically only sells for 20-40 gold. So for about $20-$100 in revenue, they are spamming everyone who is playing the game in ~5 min intervals for 1-2 hours. TV stations won't go above ~25% of the broadcast time in commercials, and they make $10s of thousands per ad.

    With the pack announcements, at least you're seeing only one spam per ~$50 or ~$100 spent. By comparison, the auction stuff has such a poor spam-to-revenue ratio that it's most likely hurting them via frustrated customers who quit to play other games, rather than helping by increasing sales. Only someone in marketing without a shred of empathy for the audience could have thought it would be a good idea.

    I do dislike the bidding hall spam because damn at TW times just flooded with spam every few minutes or so. Pack spam I've learned to live with and since it doesn't make me have to scroll up to see what was typed out by players.

    RainbowVidel (who no longer comes to these forums) has been saying that on and off for the past TWO YEARS.... and as usual, the PWI staff ignored it, just like other parts of the game they simply -refuse- to fix.

    yeah. i watched this topic show up everytime in suggestions, be agreed upon many times, and it just slowly drowns itself amongst the many "good" suggestions.
