Spear BM wanting to go axe/hammer

Basically, I am coming back to the game after a long absence. In my searching, I found my brothers old BM, he said I could use it. Its level 45 and uses polearms. At this level, is it possible to switch to axes/hammers? I really want axes/hammers for PvP

Depending on the current stats he has the BM set for, it can very easily be changed over to axes in the next few levels with just pumping str into the toon as you level. Get your white number stats, so we know where it is sitting at, and see if we can go from there.

At your level I would not waste a restat, I would just pump pure Str for the time being till you are able to use on level axes. With all the changes to PW seriously will not take very long at all to be able to be on level with your axes.

The question is when I would end up needing 73 dex for axes. I dont want to have to wait until 80+ to be able to start doing reasonable damage

you should be able to use on level axes in the next five levels or so. your next set of axes really comes at 57, so you will be more then set by that time.

resetting your dex I would not really recommend at this time. most BMs I know do end up going/trying fists by 95-99 and never really turn back after the DPS increase. Even at 4.0. That you will end up needing 200 dex.

Right then, I also found he didnt level almost any of his skills and has 55k sp. I think I can do this.

is realisticly what you will be wanting to shoot for till you are 60 and got TT60 axes.

so if you are 45 now, by 52 you will be able to use those if you have any type of stat altering amor. again, no reason to restat, save your coin for your skills and so on.

Thanks for the help, I started using the character and I do have to say the lack of SP is a pain in the ***. My skills are all very low. Ah well, I suppose it'll even out later.
