Has anyone ever tried to use one of the apoth items and seen if it's good in any way?

One of the orbs says: *Adds lesser water damage to player's attack for the next 2 minutes*

Though if I read that correctly..that says it reduces water damage..but that wouldn't make sense.

these add a magical-zing to physical attacks(excluding magic-based physical attacks). so unless you're sporting axes/fist, useless, like your buff

I don't know about that. I notice a damage difference when I have frostblade on.

Yes I have used them. The water one is pretty worthless as it overrides frostblade. The fire one is extra, though (but overrides archer's flaming arrow). The wood apoth overrides Poison Fang as well.

Basically, use wood on archers, and fire on barbs. It's how my squad killed the Haunted Headless boss in abaddon (physical immunity) because an average geared magic class cannot tank that guy -- yes I tried, he debuffs like polearm and does massive physical damage. b:surrender

Frostblade the barb tell him to spam the fire apoth and use poison fang... he should keep aggro off the archer -- I was just running in quick when he wasn't AOEing to undine the boss to make it go down faster. b:chuckle

Other than that, not really useful IMO since they share cooldown with other apoth items. :/

It might add its bonus to average weapon damage (instead of equipment damage, like most other things). Some experiments seem to confirm this. (And note that this would be consistent with adding zero damage when you are unarmed.)

    Hmm scratch that then.
I was doing a certain amount of damage to cube mobs once, then noticed frostblade was off, and I put it on and noticed an immediate avg hit increase of 300~ damage. Oh well lol.

frostblade does not affect our skill damage. Not even a little.

    Frostblade:

Breathe an icy breath onto a squad member's weapon allowing
giving their normal attacks extra Water damage equal to
30% of your base magic attack. Lasts 15 minutes.
