Spell check only corrects actual humanly logically made typos. Not some idiotic moron bashing on his keyboard, not even MS word 2050 will be able to decipher and correct that.

Things can often manifest themselves in different ways. People with Aspergers for example are generally much more skilled than non-autistic people at remembering and utilising information that they have worked out for themselves. But when directly taught something, they frequently struggle to remember anything about it.

In a situation where someone with Aspergers also struggles to reason things for themselves (this is not the norm, as "Aspies" frequently are of higher intelligence, but it is not unheard of either), it is very tricky for them to remember anything much at all. So yes, while poor spelling and grammer is not a particular trait of most, if it is something that becomes an issue, it stands to reason that it will be something they really really struggle with.

This is also the reason that those highly intelligent Aspies come across as so very exceptional, like the person Shifong mentioned. They can work so much out, and it just sticks with them, and they utilise it well, and it just snowballs. Many people have believed that Einstein may have had Aspergers syndrome.

It is called a syndrome and not a disease because it is believed that an Aspies mind works in a different, and not necassarily a worse way. In certain situations, when treated properly, it can have some really positive benefits for the person. In others, when not treated well, it can have very negative effects indeed.

Ducky I submit that you probably know more about Aspergers than I do, however I would also say that you are giving your cousin the very best help possible at all times, and surrounding yourself with others who do the same. There are probably a lot of sufferers out there who aren't recieving such great help, and who end up in a much much worse position than your cousin, or any of the people you would interact with.

My last comment is that I've always wondered about Duty and if he had some kind of learning difficulties. Having spoken to him on vent a number of times he comes across as a very very different person to the one you see on the forums. Now whether or not "Aspergers" is the exact correct diagnosis for him, I would be very surprised if he does not suffer from some condition that significantly impairs his ability to communicate using the written word. The fact that Aspergers could conceivably cause it (however rarely), and the fact that he claims to have Aspergers, makes it seem reasonable to me to believe that he probably does.

You just worded what I said differently |:
And a logical typo, with that I mean someone typing "exscuse" instead of "excuse". That's something MS word would correct, recognizing the error finding an alternative more suitable word. And is a mistake someone could simply make by typing too fast or without looking at the keyboard, the word in his/her mind is spelled/written correctly. He/she just executed it poorly.

And then blaming it on some mental "issue" is plain sad.
Plus, from the way that he is reading and understanding things. It's easy to say that he has a mild form of assburgers/aspergers.
Which brings me to the conclusion for myself that he in fact, is just an idiot that has horrible grammar and should be home schooled or locked up in a cage and be hit with a dictionary till he can do it right.

Strange though Jha, its always been a pet hate of mine to see people randomly using ridiculous spellings and incorrect language on purpose too. I just think some people should be given the benefit of the doubt, just on the spelling, not on being an ***.
