I'm having the same problem. I waited a month hoping that an update to the game would fix it but so far no luck. What should I do?

Please try and varify your files through the client, if that doesn't seem to help you should wait for a darthpanda16's response on this topic after the weekend.

Check out darthpanda's sticky called Tech Support FAQ. The post you're probably looking for regarding Windows 7 is this post.

As far as I remember some of the players had the same problem. Did you tried to install the eastern languages pack ?

I must just be lucky; PWI works fine on my system, and I have Windows 7.

Same here, on my both PC's. Just updated the game from version 3xx to 420 and not a single problem.

Windows 7 and Vista have that by default.

Windows 7 and Vista have that by default.

Personally mine don't have it. I guess it's because I`m using Ultimate and all the language packs are offered as an update.

Nope... all versions of Vista and 7 have it by default.

The update you are talking about is the MUI which is something completely different.

Here are some things that might help you...

Add the game folder and/or game file to the exceptions list in your firewall or antivirus software.

Example: C:\Perfect World Entertainment\Perfect World International

You also might need to temporarily disable your antivirus, MS Security Essentials or Windows Firewall long enough to download, install, patch and login to get into the game, and then turn it back on. Sometimes disabling may not help and you will need to add an exception for the game folder.

It might be Windows, Windows Firewall, Admin (such as running the game as Administrator), UAC, network, or antivirus settings that you will need to change so that they aren't blocking or throttling the game.

You can also try changing your proxy settings for Internet Explorer 8, to have them turned off here: Tools > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings > and then untick all of the proxy settings.

If you still need additional help, please Search our Knowledge Base for the terms mentioned above. Let us know what you tried and what errors you got when you reply to us.

    Thanks!
