I need to change my name just once!

My name is ugly!

I don't want to invest in a character with a bad name!

    This has been suggested before. There's no way to change your name at the moment. It causes more confusion than it's worth. If you don't want to invest in a char with a bad name, make a new one, or put more thought into your char's name before investing in it.

    Pw is one of the few MMORPG where one can not change the name

    only once, because at level 1 I was a noob, and did not know how to choose the name

    Clothing and face changes does not define your character. Your name is unique to you and only you. It's added to your friends list, it's in a guild list, it's seen in world chat, squad chat, normal chat and in all other ways you interact with players in game. If you change that name, you are effectively altering all of the above. They put this stone up for sale, and you can buy it every day and change your name every single day. This would cause all kinds of problems and confusion. It gives players much more freedom than they need. Players can easily abuse this feature by shout profanities and insults to other players without consequence, because hey, I can just change my name the minute after and start with a clean slate. I have been in games where the GMs change your name if it contains profanity or if they find it inappropriate. Otherwise, it's just far too easy to abuse.

    this wont ever happen, also this shud be in the suggestion forum, not like it will be noticed anyway, still though the fact that if u could change ur name, even once, some1 cud be a total (insert insane name here) to every1, scam every1 to hell amongst other anoying things such as griefing etc then think *ok its time for a new name, no1 will ever know its me*.

    If your lvl 93, that means you've already invested time in the guy even though you hate the name. So shut up and stop QQ'ing about every little thing.

    Its not the worst idea ever... but it seems people are morons and can't read your thread very well.

    Wouldn't hurt to slap on a system message too just to put out there the person has changed their name. Changing your name would pose a few minor problems mostly with the 'wtf? Who is this person in my faction/friends list' and get removed.

    But hey, having the oppertunity to unfook your name once is a lot less painful than making a new character and leveling them.

    So let me get this straight. you selected a name that you do not like? seems a strange thing to do even if you are just trying a game out.

    When i made this character I did not really think about the other connotations of the name.. I was just making a pun on BBQ (BarbEQ) but on this server one of the main factions was/is Equinox usually abbreviated to EQ so I got asked a lot if i was trying to get into or was a member of EQ, which i am not but it was not annoying enough to make me wanna change the name. If it had been I realised early enough that it would not have been a hardship to roll a new character as the early levels just fly past these days.

    If you otherwise like the game, then just make a new toon with a better name as has been suggested above. Leaving over a little thing like this is kinda cutting of your nose to spite your face. On the other hand a lot of people say the game is dead so maybe get out before it get's its addictive little claws into you b:chuckle

    btw, you do have the ability to edit your post. And A__n is censored for a reason. Naming other competing MMO's is against forum rules.

    This is why I always take like 3 hours to choose my names lolz. U never know if you will be able to change your char name, usuary name, etc. later.

    Yah, and think that you will use the experience U got with your 1st character, to make your 2nd character lvl up a lot faster than the 1st time. Me, I did 2 assassin characters till lvl 20 before creating my definitively main character (basicaly cuz I ruined their builds : / ). But from my second assassin, I noticed that I could lvl up a lot faster. Those characters are deleted now, they just served me to learn from my mistakes.
