i learned that you can put the rotting pieces of enemy corpses, their destroyed equipment, and even their souls into a pot to form a new weapon.

i learned that i can become a god or a devil if i just kill the same thing over and over until i feel stronger

i learned that even killing these creatures repetatively for sport does not hinder their populations at all

i learned that animals can drop things not remotely close to being on them, not excluding sharks dropping horns and leather, snakes dropping feathers, and even random animals dropping old armor and weaponry.

i learned i can fly if i stand on top of any kind of endangered or exotic animal

i also learned that tigers, foxes, and those above mentioned exotic animals can be like cheerleaders and form a pyramid

i learned that i dont need to earn a reputation based on skill, i could just buy it from the military

i learned that giant statues in the middle of a town were siblings and can converse with me

i learned that i can fire bows without a string

i learned that i can walk in the snow, on lava, or even high altitude air ALL IN A BIKINI AND FLIP FLOPS.

i learned that aforemention fashion still works like normal armor

i learned that overweight fat men with wrinkles can become pets

i learned that flying fish weren't just irl creatures

i learned that having the correct mixtures of random weeds and flowers can make me invincible

i learned that if i keep a piece of paper in my inventory i can come back to life

i learned that i can travel through time and not affect the present

i learned that when you kill instance bosses, they goto hell, literally (see monsters in demon world lol)

and lastly, i learned that if you want anything in life, all you have to do is pay a dollar.
    shameless self bump qq

Honestly, I didn't really learn anything while playing this game. Except that friends don't have to be real life to be good friends. I knew this beforehand with my beloved Ida and Sasu, but this game gave me a lot of amazing friends...

Oh, and also, I found out I spend my money on worthless things.

    Asian guys are hot. b:dirty

Strongly disagree with your quote about Asians being hot , almost sounds like an oxymoron.

Well, you can learn many things! Many things are even intertwined. Some examples:

You can learn to be a leader as a faction leader, or otherwise ranked faction member, squad leader, or just by being a prominent member of your faction and/or squad.

You can learn to communicate effectively in many situations such as to teach or help others, to advertise a faction/squad looking for members or your own availability.

You can learn to work together to achieve a common purpose whether that be in a squad against a boss or dungeon, in territory war, public event, working together to gather mats for a member to learn crafting skills so that member can go on to craft gear for his or her faction mates or friends or to sell his or her services.

You can learn to negotiate a market to buy the items you need, to learn the prices of things so you can buy low and sell high or to not be ripped of.

Some people even get tutoring for their classes and certainly emotional support through the people they meet in game.

    ...and more! ^^

    I hope that helps. ^^

    Oh!!!

And not to mention that you get to meet people from all over the world. So you can learn other languages, customs, world events, etc. ^^

I have learned that not everyone is willing to help others *which is alot like real life*
If you can not find it on ebay I bet you can find it in arch.
    Dinosaurs aren't extinct.....well at least the T Rexs aren't.
Some of the toughest barbs are female.
    b:laugh

But on a serious side team work is something that is well taught here through the quests and the dungeons that allow you to work with others to achieve a common goal.
Also you can show a side of your individuality and not worry about being ridiculed.

    I've learned that:

    - When you play this game most of the time, real life becomes a joke and almost unrealistic.

    - Perfect World is not perfect

Real life sucks more than PWI does. The ratio of the amount of work you put into real life to the amount of reward in real life is higher than the amount of work you put into the game to the amount of reward in the game.
Or, in non-mathematical terms, I'm trying to say that the amount of work you put into real life does not pay off as much as the amount of work you put into the game. This is what causes "addiction", or perhaps maybe a move to a better life.

This is coming from a straight A, well rounded, successful student in high school. Life only sucks more and more as you move on further... The reason why I get good grades and stuff is to make my adult life suck less.

Perfect World may not be perfect, but it sure is better than real life. I sometimes wish I can just integrate myself into my character, don't have to worry about food, don't have to worry about grades, don't have to worry about money, don't have to even worry about getting my gear (If that is considered food in this game), don't have to worry about death (Because I reincarnate all the time), don't have to worry about a crappy life (Since no matter what in this game, there's no way you're totally screwed).

You all can call me crazy (I honestly don't care if you call me a no-lifer or w/e), but maybe I'm just saying this because I'm currently not happy with my real life.

I agree with this. Trust me, it may seem weird at times; but puttin' an MP3 on and makin' it your theme for the day, marking out different "plot points" during the day...not only helps me cope with various stressors and whatnot, but like I said before, keeps life fresh and appealing.

Example: I'm currently playing Persona 3 Portable on my PSP. Thanks to focusing on building up my character's Intelligence stat via studying at my Dorm or in the school library, I've been inspired to do the same. Just aced my Discrete Math test earlier today thanks to it.

I'd have to say that's all up to the person. Yeah, there's things I miss about the past (namely old-school cartoons and their uncensored awesomeness)...but I'm also glad of the present that I am in right now, and the future that I continually strive for. Keep your dreams high and look to the sky; that shade of clear blue leading where you want it to.

That is true. Life hurts and people try to escape it by many ways and some play this game as a kind of stress relief for a while.

I do that. I just play it for fun and socializing to try to forget where I'm right now but really it just can't be the escape of real life.

    Here's what I've learned:

Some people are more open and honest about their personalities online. Without the pressure their normal environment exerts on them to behave a certain way, the real version of that person comes out.

Of course, the opposite can be true too.

There's also GIFT, the "greater internet ****wad theory," which states that the more anonymity someone has, the easier it is for them to be a raging dickhead. This also holds true in certain circumstances.

So I suppose what you learn from it all is that anonymous interaction can be a good and bad thing, like most things in life.

One aside: the people that fall under the first category I mentioned strike me as the reason that almost 1 in 5 relationships begin on the internet now days. Anonymity emboldens and empowers people, although to what end really just depends on the person.

    1) I learned if you don't have the money, don't gamble. Seriously! I'm talking about packs people! I understand that while gambling can be fun, it should be done in moderation. For instance (IRL), when my mom & I went to Vegas, she won $100 off her first slot machine, and then we peaced out of the place after cashing in. We weren't going to wait around for her to lose all that money + spend more in the casino, so we took the good luck we got and that paid for our breakfast/lunch/dinner that day. In game, my husband's always buying packs whenever he charges zen, and even though I tell him he shouldn't, of course he doesn't listen to me. Men will be men lol. He always ends up getting less bang for his buck.

    2) I learned to not be an impulsive buyer. For example in game, I've gotten all my demon books for 1M ea going by this rule (with the exception of one, which was 3M) while my friend, who bought the exact same books, paid roughly 5M ea for them. Don't be afraid to wait for a good price people. (Or in my case, a seriously lowbie price.) Also, fashion/mount/pet/boutique fads are only temporary, so don't buy the good items while they're inflated and overpriced! Wait it out! It will seriously only take ~2-3 weeks.

3)I learned that actions speak louder than words. Seriously, it's one thing to say that you will most definitely return all (if any) of your PK drops back, but it's another thing to put those words into action. I've seen so many people on my server claim to be all righteous about this, and next thing you know, they're keeping the other guy's drops, even after the whole world saw them take them at West Gate.

4)I learned that he who dies with the most toys wins... nothing. This statement is true about those that bought their way to rank 8/9. I hear QQ and cries all the time about how jealous others are of rank 8/9 people, but I'll be damned if I'm one of them. Someone on my server sold their CAR for rank 8, you think I'd be jealous of that sht??? That's just sad, dude. Everything everyone has ever achieved in PW, be it gear, weapon, or fashion, when it comes down to it, at the end of the day, they have achieved nothing.

5)I learned that you should be smart about where you put in your hard work. Doing the majority of the quests in this game are a huuuge waste of time, maybe with the exception of the early levels. The fact of the matter is that the reward for almost all of the quests are sht. I'll use this "Glacial Mistress" quest I found in my "Find Quest" log for example. It says to kill 100 of the mobs (Lv. 97 FIXED) and in return, I will get 72.5K EXP along with 16.5K spirit... and possibly a little bit of rep. Talk about waste of time. If I wanted EXP, I would just FC (10 activations). If I wanted $, I would just run TTs. Even the lower TTs are profitable since many lowbies don't have their TT gear. Hell right now, TT1-2 last boss who drops the gold shard sells for 500K. That's hella profitable for the amount of work it takes to do a TT1-2! (Hope no one in my dead server reads this.) 2 of those runs, and I already got 1M!

I can probably think of more, but this wall of text is becoming a skyscraper.

    Probably been mentioned before.

I have learned that it is normal to be able to change direction mid-leap, even doubling back on yourself. Similarly that elephants can jump too.

Transmogrification on a whim is natural and achievable, back and forth as much and as frequently as you like.

Bleeding is an affliction, not an actual, physical spillage through wounds.

Wounds are imaginary, no matter how many strikes with an axe, you won't cut or lose a limb.

Things I learnt from PW Malaysia (The Bad):
    - Malaysians are just like Koreans in customer, they let the gold farming companies run their server until they start losing money then they try to salvage it.

    - GMs are very corruptable and in the end non existence
-- GMs also 'leave' cause they hire computer IT students who are on school holidays.

    - Customer service? Is non-existent and a joke

    - Selling virtual currency via third parties is the new thing to do.

    - Server management is a past time not a reality.

    - Any improvement ingame has to be authorised from Beijing and not resolved when everyone is shouting for improvements.

    - It all comes back to the 'money'.

    - Buying 800 million is very easy and the ingame economy goes into hyperinflation.

    - Real life money talks.

    - When the ingame economy is in hyperinflation everyone who buys the <whatever standard of cash shop currency there is writes "Its over 200K Im quiting" or everyone who still believes its a F2P game.

    - MMORPGs have license expiry dates. Thank Hell. =^_^=

    - If its no longer fun. Leave a long belated post in their forum in broken english so they can understand the thing; then leave.

Things I learnt from Perfect World Malaysia and Perfect International (Some of the worse-err):

    - People who don't play much about the game learn quickly

    - There are a variety of people out there

    - Troll is usually 12-year-Billy who lives in a caravan and usually fails hard cause he can't get it off or up to something more exciting. Think Offspring and 'pretty fly for a white guy'

    - 75% of troll is unintelligent, lives under a bridge and does not like intelligent conversation or discussion.

    - The other 20% is moderately intelligent, think fridge mold.

    - There is 5% error margin in here somewhere.

    - Its a 'cool story br0' but thats because "Y0u c4n't wr1te a n0vel, bruva" or you couldn't come up with your own, brrraaaaooo.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zvTRQr7ns8

    - In reference to the above. "Goat kidz" and "Bro ****" will be "Kidz and Bro ****". Children will be children. Adults will be adults.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zvTRQr7ns8

Things Perfect World might of realised in its short existence

    - But a part from the above there are still some intelligent people out there not running with the crowd.

    - Watching players **** themselves as you lure 20+ mobs in one dungeon and run with it is hysterical.

    - Even 200,000 reputation is still a lot.

    - You to can waste 50,000 USD/<insert your currency here> on digital items and reach a dead server in 2 years time, 3 years time or 4 years time.

    - Instant coffee is garbage, REAL perculated coffee rocks. (If you like coffee)

    - Listening to people tell you about their character and how they made it to level whatever and got that cool piece of gear is interesting.

    - Watching people cringe as you bait the entire north part of Nightscream island. 40+ mobs? or insert area here. Timing is flinch worthy.

    - Running a guild is a challenge. Being a part of that guild is even more of a challenge.

    - Watching all the players have a whinge when the gold was removed from Territory War and laughing.

    - Using Perfect World Malaysia terminology in PW International people going, "What is that?"

    - Since you can't multiclient you can't be in every FB at once. Such is life.

    - Making HH/TT mats cost 90 million or 120 million won't win you any new users.

Things PW International has taught me so far:

    - There is such a thing as active Game Masters.

    - A game can be maintained to be moderately effective to not have an over hyperinflated game economy.

    - Glad I moved from Perfect World Malaysia.

    - No more AOE Zhen Parties. But Frost Walk / Frost City is looking promising.

    - Prospective in further updates for PWI in the near future.
Time won't wake/make you wiser, but it will definitely wound you.

    Good things.

    People.
    communication.
a place where all races can unite in one world at peace in a way.
    fun.

    bad things

    addiction
people paying to much cash on a game funding thier addiction.
prob people risking marriages because one likes to spend more time here and spend money.
people spending money on ficticious items that they will never ever have anything to show for in the RL and be embarrassed they spend so much.
people who say they are bored of the game that still come on and spend money on pack because their account isnt just fun anymore its a mental investment and a habit to keep doing what they are used to doing.

stuff like that.and really there are more bad things to explain about in this game than good.Perfect world..lol yeh right.

Funny how some of you mention addiction. I thought I was addicted and I did play PW all the time I was on my comp. And, to be honest, when I come back I will do that again. But the thing is that after I quit, not once I wanted to play it again. Quitting wasn't hard for me, but then again, I haven't spent a cent on this game.
