Going by this list, I am wondering, when it says a pet is say metal, does that mean when you tame it, its attacks are considered metal even if it uses a skill like bash?

Just want to know so I can plan out what I need and decide if using different pets is worth it to try to match up my pet to mobs weakness.

    Thanks

I'm just curious, shouldn't the elemental attack type come into play at some point with a pet? Why would perfect world take the time to explain what element defeats the other if it's not a consideration? Wouldn't you need a wood pet to defeat an earth attacker, or a metal pet to defeat a wood type and so on? That would also explain the need for more spaces in your pet bag wouldn't it?

    Just an observation.

volcanic magmites are north west of timberfield town, right in front of Firecrag grotto. mind you they come in threes. which means if you attack one they all come running. so i tell you trick send ya pet have it attack for few secs do a lil dmaage then unsummon it. even if they were all attacking ya pet once you unsummon now only the one you had pet attack comes to you. just make sure you a bit away. and you get volcanic magmite all the time easy. other wise ya prob die when all 3 attack you. peace.

No, the pet you get after hatching is usually rather different from the beast you tame.

Is the only way for your pet to learn new skills or improve their skills to use the Zoologist? It seems like they learn some on their own. I have a L17 sharptooth wolfkin I leveld from the beginning, who now has Flesh Ream 2 and Howl 1. They only start with Flesh Ream 1. I didn't notice when he learned the new skill. Has anyone documented these skill progressions? Will my wolf learn more skills? If so, when?

you can tame all class pets by taming certain pets, and giving them to the zoologist.
