genie's 10% exp shared or a extra?

ok so i read the pwi wiki for genies and it said it gains 10% exp from quests and killing

i was wondering if that ment it took 10% of the quest and monster killing's exp?

    for every exp point you get the genie gets the equivalent of 10% (not a deduction from the exp gained)

    i.e you kill a mod and get 100 xp. the genie gets 10xp rather than you get 90xp(100-10) and the genie gets 10xp
