I still keep my Necklace of the Legion 'till i find a better replacement and i still keep Sleeves of Sea Captain i only use them when i have to spam heal herc at bosses but when I'm not tanking or killing normal mobs i use my TT90 sleeves so i can deal more dmg. Chann is always welcome when it comes to venos. But as long as the channed gear is good and around ur lvl preferably. If the piece of gear is lets say lvl40/50 it's better to get a non channed piece of gear around ur lvl due to the better stats it gives(mag attck/res phys res etc.) but that's in my opinion. =]0

Hhm, Endless Ambiguity -6% -- it's my goal as a TT wep as well, i find it awesome o:
Sleeves of Sea captian -3% -- Close enough to 8x. I know many venos in their 90s who are still using those sleeves.
Neckless of the legion -3% -- hhm, If you find a better necklace, choose it and sell this one. A relentless courage on your genie and the missing 3% are fixed o:[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
I still use the Sleeves of sea captain and I like it. I just don't feel like going through the trouble for the oracle's sleeves. As for the endless, you can choose that as your endgame or other weapons such as the red dust which has -6% or the TT 99 glaive, also -6%. Those will have to be worked for and considered for serious endgame, because they are much more expensive. Lastly, keep your necklace of legion until you find a -6% one or something.
Channeling I find is really helpful whenever you need to heal your pet or just DD faster. Just watch for faster mana consumption/usage and aggro sometimes.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
Thank you so much ForsakenX for the sig b:cute0 -
I love my sleeves of sea captain, seriously and as mentioned, I don't want to go through the trouble of getting the oracle's (TT90 gold) sleeves.
Channeling is something that I'd give up pdef ornaments for since I'm a PVE veno. Most of the time, I'm metres away from the monster or boss and with proper timing, I normally don't get hit by its AOE or what not. Without it, I'd feel like my spells go so slow plus it makes our damage up to par with clerics or even wizards and psychics. b:pleased
That's my opinion about it though.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
Alrighty, sounds good.^^0

More channel! 18%! 24%! Keeeepp gooooing!
Ok, being serious - if you get too much channel, you start finding that your skills are stuck in cooldown and the only thing you can fire is venomous scarab, which kinda sucks. And only a few of our skills (though it does include our best skills, like amp dmg) take very long to cast.
But me, I love channel mods.0 -
My channeling isnt that high, only 12%, but it's enough to get me by for most cases. Im planning to get more, 2 -6% rings, TT99 sleeves, and TT99 belt, maybe my next wep will have chan too, idk. And my chan necklace needs to have +7-8 str on it (case i still need those stats for HA) for me to switch ortaments. Idk if i'll give up my TT90 cape for the channeling cape though.>.<0

That channel cape has a significant amount of extra stats that you might be able to utilize in an HA build. It depends on what your cape currently has, and how much better it is, but basically it boils down to the fact that it has a minimum of 18 stat points that it gives you in addition to the channel (6-7 STR, 6-7 MAG, 6-7 DEX, +6-7 VIT which is just nice).[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

The TT90 cape can also be upgraded to Nirvana, though pwdb doesn't have the correct stats for those capes. Anyone care to post them?0 -
Now I have a question in terms of the Lunar Cape with -6% chan and all the extra stats. Is it worth it for just a normal AA veno to buy that cape for 40-60mil or whatever it is worth, just for those stats? I was just thinking about it and wanted some opinions.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
Thank you so much ForsakenX for the sig b:cute0 -
You can always restat out the extra stats it gives you and put them into a stat of your choice (most AA venos would choose mag or vit), similar to what an HA veno would do.Solandri - Heavens Tear wrote: »The TT90 cape is +9 to str/dex/mag though, so switching to the channeling/interval lunar cape represents a 6-9 point downgrade for a HA veno build. Derrr me, wasn't thinking of Ghost Lord, had a 3* cape idea in my mind. Yeah, that would be a downgrade.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
You do have to remember there's no restatting Dex for Arcanes, so this isn't as much of an advantage as you may think since only the extra Str would make a difference unless you were a pure mag that was thinking of restatting Vit as well. Meaning you'd have to make sure there isn't a more cost effective way of getting those extra atribute points, which does mean looking wether you couldn't get those along with the channeling by investing the cape's cost in other pieces.0

I have 3 weapons that I use: blade of the red dust 2 socket +7, i use this for bosses because of the -chan. But for pvp i get rid of all my channel gear and go for crit and magic attack.
I would say get rid of the sea captain sleeves at 90 and find some cheap -chan OHT sleeves because there are a **** load of good ones out there...there are even about 4-5 -9 channel sleeves on HT atm.TheEmpire

I run two sets of ornaments....neg channeling and pdef/vit, toss in a few extra odds and ends for crit/magic attack. Depending on what I need I change out. Personally I don't use the lunar cape with neg channeling but prefer the wing trophy cape (name escapes me atm) with the double pdef. Granted one reason I don't worry about the lunar cape is I can run up to neg 39 channeling without it, if I feel like it. The warsoul of heaven helm can add an extra neg 3% channeling and has some decent stats. Like Surreal I run multiple weapons depending on my need.
Due to the costs etc for some of the channeling rings, belts etc...I'd hang on to them (granted I'm a packrat when it comes to good gear). If you ever decide to run another magic char (cleric, wiz, psy) you can just pass the gear to them. Because of my packrat tendencies my cleric is within 3% channeling of my veno's max channeling cause she got all the "old" gear when I upgraded to higher lvl gear.
Think there's even a -12% channeling belt somewhere on HT as well. Remember seeing it in a cat shop.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
if you go pure pve with your veno id say go chanelling all the way, as high as you can! im currently at 55% and not done with all my gear, my target is 65 or more b:chuckle . Your pdef can be adjusted with garnet stones and HP with refines, but as a pve veno especially tanking bosses with ur pet chanelling can make a huge difference. It is true the more chan you have the less macros you can spam coz CD will be messed up, but for me its ok since i never ever used macros b:laugh[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

I'd rather have gear at my level than tons of channeling that makes my defense worthless due to all the channeling gear being low level.Main characters

After lvl 90 u can perfectly gear up at your lvl and have chanelling. OHT FTW b:victory[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

I think, -20% would be good enough for me.0

No guarantee it'll have the stats I'm looking for. So far I have yet to find any OHT gear that fits what I want.
I have -6% channeling right now but only because my TT 99 weapon happens to have it.Main characters

<< Arcane/VIt veno \w -33% chan
I'm using a mix 75+ jewelry to get this -chan...while it's great for pet healing and non-AoE bosses I'm currently working on getting PDef/VIT jewelry for the times where I have to take an AoE hit or two.
I have used the necklace of the legion for pretty long time until i got 75 -6% chan neck as drop. Still using the sleeves of the seacaptain untill I replace them with with tt99 gold sleeves.

Just curious; Outside of PvP, do you guys really find all this channel gear useful? My veno is heavy (so weaker heals than a mag build) with only max 22% channel, used to be max 12% channel before level 93. But there were very few times when I've said to myself, "I wish I had more channeling." In fact, most of the time when I'm spam healing, I've been taking off what channel gear I have to slow down my heals so I don't burn as much mana.
Edit: The biggest difference I've seen is being able to squeeze in an Amp while spam healing. The 1.2 sec cast time on Amp really hurts compared to DD spells (typically 0.8 sec). In fact that was the original reason I thought of trying for a Beamhoof Slicer - so I could maintain ~10% channel without having to have a bunch of arcane channeling gear equipped. But 10%-15% seems to be a comfortable amount for Amp in most cases.0 -
Speaking of the channel lunar robe on first page... I was wondering for quite a while if I should get it or the one that adds 2x216phys res. True that channeling is always welcome but I'm one squishy arcane veno and this robe adds the same amount of p def as 3xGarnet Gems and more and I rly need to choose the right one 'cuz it's not a cheap thing to buy and it's an endgame gear. b:surrender So I was wondering what u guys think about it. :330

While having a lower -channel can help some in pve, you can get a lot more out of it when you start getting higher than 40%. Depending on the circumstances, you can sometimes get 3+ attacks in before healing your pet (even on TT bosses). If you're solo'ing, that makes a world of a difference time wise. This does assume a decent enough m. attack to be able to pop your pet's hp back up quickly, but from what I've heard, this is achievable in all builds. In fact, most of the time when I'm spam healing, I've been taking off what channel gear I have to slow down my heals so I don't burn as much mana.
I hate this. Apoth pots and HY help a lot, but I still rip through my mp like none other.
In regards to the lunar cape, it really depends on the rest of your armor. The p.res is about the same as a plus 4 refine on the TT99 protection belt or necklace. Personally, I have the lunar cape and my other gear is more defensive. I'm a bit on the squishy side, but I haven't had a problem with it so far.
Other things to consider:
- Reduce physical damage taken +x% on lots of different gear
- set bonuses (extra -3% channel for 2 TT99 arcane pieces, I normally see sleeves + boots)
- lunar magic rings: -6% channel and p. res + 2500 -
Jasrina has the -12 belt last time i saw her.TheEmpire

As much as I love -channel, how is a single piece of gear that's -12% really worth the price people put on it? I believe I saw that belt in a cat shop for 70mil. If I remember correctly, the rest of the stats weren't that great. Only 3 resist I think, and maybe one other blue stat (it's been awhile).
Is there more than a pride reason to get something that extravegant which compromises other aspects of your character?0 -

Its value doesn't come so much from the stats as it does from the ability to stack more channel using less pieces of gear.
That being said, I'm not sure it's worth that much. But to some people it is, just like that last 0.05 interval is worth quite a bit to someone shooting for 5aps, and so on (I assume)[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

If i was a channel ***** I would be going for that belt.
Its a bit like being the only warsoul on your server, you have something unique which no one else has.TheEmpire

I get that, but at high levels -channel in general isn't that hard to come by. If you're going for high -channel, why not make sure that your equip is still decent. If you need that much channel pve-wise (keeping pet alive), then the situation is arguably dangerous enough that you shouldn't be gimping your defenses. There's plenty of good gear with -channel. If you have that much, an extra 3-6% won't make a noticable difference. If i was a channel ***** I would be going for that belt.

Im in a HA set 100% of the time. I don't have an arcane set, and probably wont be planning to get one. Anyways, the interval cape is nice, but foxform is something i use just as much as human form. So interval is just as important as channeling to me, but I dont see myself getting 2.22 atk/. If it was any, it would just be int sleeves and the cape, but idk if that would make a bit of a difference. That's why I was wondering about the chan cape.... Or I could just get the +phys def cape, since i love my p def. (But the main thing is TT90 cape give 9 str dex and mag even, while event capes give 6-7 of each. So, the TT90 cape would still optimize my stats better)>.<0
