There are enough people playing this game that you will see plenty of them on each server.

DW low level areas have a not bad population of newbs/alts whenever I go through (compared to Archosaur [ the server not the town] for example which is a ghost town) - the TB area is the most populated still (everyone wants a fish of their very own still i guess)

For pve servers all of them are nice except for Trolling Tides and Archosaur, probably because in Raging Tides case all of the player base is too busy spamming the forums to play, and Archosaur is just deserted. If you are going to go pvp go for Lost City. Harshlands is just a wanna be Lost City

Raging tides is nice but all servers got lots of helpful + nice people. and usually in all servers low lvl areas are still populated its just the lvl 35-60 areas that arent

Don't worry I didn't see much players in my level range till I hit 30 for the quests. You see there are 4 start cities where the new players are sent(Human, Winged Elves, Untamed, and the Tideborn). Once you hit 30+ all these 4 races merge together, you will see more and more players.

But I have to say Lost City is FTW! It may be a PvP server but it's not that bad as you think it is, I hardly ever run into people trying to kill me. Usually the high levels just go for one another in popular places like West Archosaur. I went to a PvP because from experience in other games, PvP is what you will turn to ALWAYS later on. b:bye
Hey hey why are you whimpering over there in the corner all by yourself(awww poor you)? Q_Q(rofl my tears Dx) ish okies stand up let's find you some friends(to cry with you). It starts within, just be yourself(YOU SUCK!)^-^

There's more to selecting a server than which is the most populated. You should base your choice of server on whichever ones have the lowest ping time (the smallest MS you see listed when you select the server when logging in) and whether it is PvE (Player versus Environment) or PvP (Player versus Player). If the ping times are fairly similar for you, then the time zone the servers are in may be a factor as well.

    The servers are:
Lost City - This is a West Coast PvP server.
Heaven's Tear - This is a West Coast PvE server.
Sanctuary - This is a West Coast PvE server.
Archosaur - This is a West Coast PvE server.
Harshlands - This is an East Coast PvP server.
Dreamweaver - This is an East Coast PvE server.
Raging Tide - This is an East Coast PvE server.

On PvP servers, once you reach level 30 then anyone can attack your character and you can attack anyone else. On PvE servers, players normally can only attack each other if they go into PK (Player Killing) mode, which lasts for 10 hours minimum. (There are still a few areas, such as some rooms in the Cube of Fate, in which PK is always enabled.)

The East Coast servers are on Eastern time (EST or EDT, UTC -5 or -4, respectively) and the West Coast servers are on Pacific time (PST or PDT, UTC -8 or -7). A lot of events on PWI happen in the evening (8:50 PM - midnight), server time, so if the ping times are about the same you might want to choose based on which coast's time zone works better for you.

For more information on the servers, see the Servers entry in the PWI wiki.
