Basically, Im a noob. Surprise surprise... Anyway I have two questions:

1. If the durability on your equipment goes down, I know it breaks, but how do you keep it from breaking?

2. Since my equipment is about to break I need grease to manufacture a new weapon, but where do I find grease?

Thanks for any help

Firstly, if it breaks, it doesn't disappear or anything, so no worries there. I believe if it breaks, it simply puts your damage back down to as if you didn't have a weapon equipped at all. Don't worry about the grease and everything. Just go to your nearest blacksmith. Click on their option for 'goods' and find a button on the bottom of their screen for 'Repair' and click that. It'll come up with a new mouse icon, something like an anvil and hammer, probably (I never could tell what it was, nor did I look hard enough to figure it out), and pull that over to the weapon you want to repair and then click on it. If you just scroll over it, it will tell you how much it costs to repair it. So you don't need to manufacture a new one. If you really want to, the mobs at the beginner areas drop them, but when you're higher level its rare that they do when you kill them. And you may as well just go to Archosaur to look for someone selling weapons you can upgrade to rather than manufacturing them unless you're trying to better that skill, because it ends up costing a lot of time money and effort to collect those ingredients. And I'm not just saying 'oh, you'll waste 10 minutes looking for that stuff.' No. Its more along the lines of hours upon hours searching for 1 or 2 pieces because they are almost all rare drops once you hit even a decent level.

No, you could always just buy one from the blacksmith as well as making them there. If you don't want to spend any coin, then that would be a yes unless a mob you killed happened to drop a better weapon. In short, there's the six ways to get weapons: Mob drops, buy from blacksmith, buy from players, manufacture, quest rewards, and your supply stash (the one you open at each 5 level interval). I believe the first weapons you get from the stash are at level 5 and 20.

I HIGHLY recommend either manufacturing your own or buying from players/auction house at lvl 30+, NPC gears and weapons are **** compared to what players can make. b:victory

lol not worth it ... u shouldnt really worry about ur gear till lvl 60ish.. lvl 1-59 dont wast ur money on armour /weapons cuz ur gunna upgrade it within like 5 lvls so it has no point.. but as u get to lvl 60 stats on ur armour and weapon are going to start mattering.. U can make ur own stuff but that in the long run will cost alot ..

No upgrading armor = death/fail killing, especially considering the class the thread maker is. Manufacturing items and buying them from players/auction house is usually cheaper, and they have better stats.

I pretty much agree with the suggestion about manufacturing your own gear. It helps you level up your manufacturing skills, which means less dependence on others for making your gear from molds, TT mats, and other things later on.

As for finding specific items, such as grease, I recommend looking the items up on the Perfect World Database (PWDB) site for that. When looking at something, make sure you see "/pwi/" in the URL, or else you might be seeing data for another version of Perfect World. If you don't see that, just click the USA flag in the upper right hand corner of the page to see the PWI version of that page. At that site you can see what mobs drop the item (make sure that the "Exists" column isn't "-") and what the odds normally are.

Visit the PWI wiki for the useful information. Stay at the PWI wiki for the pie. ;-)
