Should we get Rep for PK/PvP kills?

In reality without spending a TON on money in this game reaching rank 8 and 9 are next to impossible for the average player. My question is doesn't it seem logical that you should gain rep for killing a player in PvP? I did a few numbers and it would seem that 5 rep per kill would be acceptable. Even at that rate you would need to accumulate 4000+ kills to obtain rank 8 and about 10000+ kills for rank 9.. PWI would still be able to make their money off players buying DO's for refines, Charms, GA's, Socket Stones etc. but still making Rank VIII and Rank IX available for players without spending tons of money. Dicuss?

    There are games that give "honor" and the like for killing players of other nations, but that is when an account is forever bound to a nation and can't be changed, and PWI doesn't have nations or anything similar.

    Giving honor for PKing outside your guild would just be a little silly.

    And you can farm your rep, it's been done by several people (RedsRose I'm sure will post here and she afaik farmed 100% of her rank 8, or that's what her sig said for a long time =P).

    So I will vote no. It would be too easy to abuse.

    But in essence this is "Reputation" being amazing in PK gives you rep in the game regardless so why not be rewarded for it.. As far as farming rep could easily be prevented by not awarding rep earned by killing a player of lower level, someone in your faction, killing someone repeatedly within a 5 min time span, Killing someone while in a party with other players <---(This would stop some ganking and also prevent rep from being earned during guild PK battles outside westgate)

    Group PvP is an essential part of this game, and knowing how to play in squads is a totally different and essential skillset from being able to PvP 1v1. If you WERE going to offer rep for PK kills, excluding people in squads is ludicrous. Maybe in squads with greater than 10 levels difference, within the "experience radius" (though that could still easily be abused).

    I still maintain that rep can currently be farmed, and it should not be something that everyone should be able to obtain. If you're a casual player in any game that has hard-to-obtain, powerful items and a massive experience curve at later levels, you shouldn't be able to get the gear or the levels that people who play much more than you can get. I'm proof of that; I have been playing since before my forum join date, and this is my level, and I'm only average geared for a L90 free playing casual player.

    Get used to it. If you don't play/spend a lot, you don't get a lot. That's just the way it is. Just like in the real world, something doesn't appear from nothing.

    That and on a PVP server lvl 100s will camp near lvl 30 questing killing every white name they so no leting low lvls doing his questsb:laugh

    Read my 3rd post... obviously there would need to be a farming prevention system.. and inter faction kills wouldn't count..

    In all honesty, I get frusturated enough at the sight of all the skill-less players running around with Nirvana weapons. We don't need to make Rank 8 easier to obtain, too. >>

    Considering that the more PKs you do, the more infamy you gain, I think it'd be more appropriate to gain negative rep when PKing.

    no because that would give an advantange to the pvp server, and this game will be more broken as it already is.
    AP classes are a real butt pounding...

    Killing people get you famouns on a server if you kill a lot.... so kinda reputation even though it wont show anywhere exept on profile (0 pvp kills now though pffft) or ranking list...

    So yeah, id say give some rep for pk kills on players around your lvl would be nice. if like 5 rep pr kill it wont be a lot when most pkers dont have more then 1-5k kills so it wouldnt be that much.. it would also increase the pk interest on PvE servers so its something to do for us that were too fail to start PvP server in the beginning b:laugh

    I agree, it would be more fitting to lose rep for killing a player. Not only that, but I would make alts to kill 24/7 if this system was embedded into the game. Too easy.

    reputation can be obtained by the badges for luck tokens that makes it easy enough to get if you are willing to spend the coins + there are the solo missions + armor donation system ( ok here the rewards should be higher considering mat prices and the fact that ** items are required) They should add the darkness stamps in dungeons above 59 again then everything would be fine.

    Im strongly against reputation as PK/PVP reward since not all classes are equally good in pvp i can understand that you as a psychic or any sin would appreciate that since your classes are great for pvp but i wouldnt like to see that the already op classes get another benefit here

    No... This game already rewards pkers enough. I have played multiple games where pking is accessible and allowed but the system in game also rewards justly.... Pkers go to jail several months or years in some cases for real time gameplay (jail can't do anything no lvling no trading no grinding, only thing you could do was kill rats for no exp or coin). They lose rep. Every item drops. and the person who kills the pker gets hundreds of millions in coins and whatever loot they dropped. Basically saying yes we have a pvp system but if you do, its gaming suicide... on your head be itb:pleased

    Sage vs Demon should get rep for killing each other. Even with wraiths around, they still hate each other so it only makes sense. Or maybe just a chance to drop a rep badge. Doesn't have to be in there inventory. Just made out of the blue like mirages from gear shatter drops, but drops even with scrolls used.

    one of the random rewards from wq = 5 reputation but it would be ok to give those 5 reputation everytime the wq is finished

    +1 Although the rep for pk kills would coincide with the actual aspect of the game and it's theme I suppose.
