LA Psy?

Just wondering what people think about light armor psychics for pvp?

The sensation was scissors and too much to scream,
so instead I just started to laugh.

    i have a la psy, lv 97, 6.6k hp (no vit noncashshoped) and even w/ my crappy fc wep he does very well in pvp, either do a lot of damge + stun lock in black voodoo, or switch to white and im preaty much near immposible to be killed 1 on 1 (excpet vs the really op cashshoppers of course) then i jsut soul burn em and watch em kill themselves, of course idk how well AA psy do tohugh since iv never been 1, but being a la psy not too bad, especially compared to say a la wiz vs AA wiz >_>
    well when ur LA psy has same wep grade and refine as ur pure AA wiz, hits as high per shot, has faster dps, and has 2x the crit %, time to retire the wiz............

    I'm just not fond of Light Armor period.

    My highest normal hit in PK on a HA user is 4.5k.
    My highest normal hit in PK on a LA user is 4.5k.

    The LA build is unpopular because it has zero justification. We don't get a single class feature to compliment it. Even White Voodoo doesn't see much difference between the two because its a defense level add, not directly related to your actual defenses. I'll borrow a statement from a friend to summarize this:

    No one ever said a LA Psy wasn't possible, and no one ever said a LA Psy couldn't have success. It's simply being stated that an LA Psy will always be inferior to an Arcane Psy, as the class mechanics just lean much more effectively to Arcane stats.

    If you really look at what the psychic class was built to accomplish, there's not a lot of cause, reason, or need for LA. It's really just some people's attempt to copy what other classes do, which again, doesn't really suit the role of a psychic. It's up to you how you play your character, but there is no advantage at all to wearing LA as a psychic, unless you never put black voodoo on.

    So, basically either arcane or HA?

    I just hate how squishy they are, so I'm trying to figure out a way around that.

    No, it's pretty much arcane or play a different class.

    We are a squishy class. That's just how it is. Especially with that nasty little -11 def levels from Black Voodoo. b:surrender Our major control debuffs (slow, freeze, stun, and knockback) combined with Psychic Will for physical attackers, can help you feel significantly less squishy. But all in all, if you're tired of being squishy, just play the whole game in White Voodoo. Tell me how that works out for you. b:cute

    I played LA till idk, was the time where i had bh59, then restat AA coz of lack of power and felt squishy to both magic and phys dmg.

    I ll not say anything about if it s a good build or not just telling you my experience.
    Oh and even been AA you can pown most ppl.

    Thanks Umi, I was actually thinking of restating for LA. But I will stick with my PA build. Even though I hate having low vit(level 77 2082 vit atm) I can deal with it b:thanks.

    I've always been a pure magic/5 vit psy. I played a wiz before and she was LA for a good while, then I looked at my pdef, which was yummy, but my damage was not. And since I was a damage addict from the get-go, I restatted her to arcane. I learned my lesson from my wiz.

    LA is good for the pdef pre 90, I suppose. It starts getting a bit iffy at 6x+ when you get more magic mobs to kill. In PvP, I was hard to kill, but with my damage output, it took a little longer to kill than if I was pure arcane.

    I've dabbled here and there with PvP on the psy. The damage output of a psy is disgusting indeed, but nothing like a wizard's. So going LA would further gimp a psychic's damage. And like ryukage says, we don't have stone barrier. Sure, we have white voodoo, but -99 attack level+the gimp from an LA build=take years to take even another squishy class down to quarter life. If you're worried about being squishy, then play another class. I don't mind the squishiness as long as I eat things alive. ^.~
