What is the difference between a PVP server and a PVE server?

I was under the impression that PVP servers had people PKing all the time. So I made a new sin for Lost City but it seems the same to me.


Am I missing something?

    open pvp doesnt start till you hit 30 same as on the pve servers but on the pvp server they can't switch back to pve only like we can on pve server

    Options
    Everything starts at level 30.

    PvP server, you are in PK mode - white name - soon as you hit level 30, there is no other way you can turn blue

    PvE server, soon as you hit level 30, you have the option to choose between , you can stay blue name or go white name , if you go white name then you have to wait 10 hours t'll you can switch back to blue.
