cant start game

Alright i have version 402...and i got all the patchs for it...

it keeps saying the client is out of date and and it keeps saying update server failed..

how do i fix this?

    Your game version should be 409. Update and try again.

    i've got the same problem, game version 402 and it doesn't want to update.

    also did that and didn't work, keeps saying update server connection failed, says it with patch 1 and 2 server.

    Make sure that some program isn't blocking the connection to the server.

    yep also did an install without virusscanner on and tried to update but still got the same thing.
    hope somebody can help me

    Try Reinstalling the client.

    also did that about 5 times now, i've tried on my moms computer with windows 7 and works perfect there, is it maybe because im using vista 64 bit? maybe stupid what im gonna say now but why don't put the 409 version online to download?

    Try to run as administrator, set the compability to Win XP SP 3. That's what is coming up in my mind.

    I think they do change the main download version once every month or so, so you only really ever have 2 or 3 patches (9mb each not a big deal) to bring the game up to the current version.

    you say you tried doing the manual patch but that it comes up saying the patch server is unavailable - this leads me to believe you are not doing this properly.

    1. download the manual patch from the link provided
    2. start the launcher
    3. when the launcher offers to autopatch - cancel the update
    4. click on the manual patch button
    5. navigate to the .cup file you downloaded
    6. the patch will install with no further connection to the patch servers
    7. restart the launcher - click play.

    if you still have issues running the game after that, i use 64bit vista on my main pc, I need to run the game as administrator because of the UAC. Other issues can relate to multicore processors you may need to set the affinity of the elementclient.exe to one cpu

    Patch for 402-409

    Also make sure you didn't blocked the client in Windows Firewall *if it's turned on of course*

    hmm i did the install exactly the same as on my moms pc and here it still doesnt work and if in manually patch it, it still says update server connection failed lol. pff wtf is going wrong ah well i think ill just play on my moms computer then.

    i did everything u just told her/him to do, and i even uploaded the patch and it said it was lower than the client version, wut should i do?
    Lifes a game but its not fair, i break the rules so i don't care

    i am having same problems with pw and hoTKs. I have exceptions on firewall for both. antivirus turned off and still cant either to update or run. I have had BoI installed for months and never had a prob w/ it. But cant get the others to work. Any help plz?
